So it’s the Glee connection and then the Finding Neverland connection. We all knew this was coming and I think that while Morrison is too old for the part, it kind of fits him perfectly in every other way.

Worth noting that this will mark Morrison’s first time stepping into a Broadway production as a replacement since the first Rocky Horror Show revival in the early 2000s, which was also at Circle in the Square.

Saw a comment on Instagram wondering how the show will fare without all Groff's hamming it up to carry it.
From seeing the reel Just in Time posted of Morrison on insta I can already tell he certainly doesn't have the "ham" to fill the trousers as well as Groff.

Matthew Morrison on 'Today,' talking about making it back to Broadway 'Just in Time'; touring with his own show, and making a cavalcade of Cameos

Ouch. Watching him justify diplomatically Cameo is amusing. When an artist is reduced to asking for money to make Happy Birthday selfie videos, you know your career has somewhat taken a detour. Where did things go wrong, Matthew? Hopefully this short stint in JUST IN TIME reignites something. Truly wishing you the best, mon frere.

I would argue that Morrison isn't too old for "this" theatrical Darin. The show's conceit - an actor self-identifying at the start, framing his performance as a performance - makes the performer's age less critical. None of these 3 actors look like Darin whatsoever. It's not quite like Beautiful when the approximation of King's self-presentation - the wig, etc. - was part of aiding the suspension of disbelief. Darin's reputation and biography are decidedly illustrated, but with an understanding that it's a kind of theatrical homage. It was a slightly controversial aspect of this telling during previews, at least on this board; but once the show opened, I've never heard the Groff-morphs-before-our-eyes as a negative.

Judging someone for making money when times are tough and work is scarce is a wild take. It reminds me of the assholes who dragged Geoffrey Owens for bagging groceries in between gigs. Disgusting and none of their business.
Go get em, Matthew!

Morrison's hardly the only Broadway performer who does Cameos. There's Joanna Gleason, Megan Hilty, Derek Klena, Andy Karl, Taye Diggs, Andrea McArdle, Jackie Hoffman, to name a few. Whether it's to make a few extra bucks or connect with fans, who cares? That's their prerogative, and I wouldn't pass judgment on their careers based on it.

Yes, the film and television industry is struggling now. It never fully recovered from the pandemic or the strikes. Also A-list actors are doing streamers and TV like never before. And Broadway has more " stars" it seems more and more every year,
It's hard to make it in the business and even harder to maintain a career.
Look up some of the actors who were leads on big tv shows in the 90's and 2000's. How many are still regularly working.
Even Groff was likely more of a household name in the last few years through his tv projects. I'm pretty sure that was a factor in getting this show up and running in the first place.

Owens was on the CBS series the Waynanses had last season. I know I have terrible taste, but I found it amusing. Maybe I was the only one, as CBS canceled it. Owens played Damon Wayans Jr.'s father-law.

You don't have terrible taste at all. I love the entire Wayans clan and found it entertaining as well.

He says in two interviews I watched that he has been offered shows but decided to step away to be with his kids, and is glad he did it. He didn't want to enter into a year long show contract.
He also explains why he decided to use Cameo to raise money for his project.

Yeah, Morrison clearly chose to stay home and live off his Glee royalty checks to be with his kids. He said in the interview his kids are old enough to where he is willing to start taking projects again. I do think him only doing three weeks is a bit silly, but he said that he loved the show so much it’s worth it to him.

Broadway.com's interview with Matthew Morrison, on returning to Circle in the Square (where he did ''The Rocky Horror Show'' ); stepping into Jonathan Groff's sizable shoes as Bobby Darin, and welcoming the cardio workout he'll be getting there.

If a run is limited they would usually announce it when they announce the casting. So I think she will be there in May
