Definitly tacky, the worst thing is that to her fans, she wouldn't let them take pictures with her. I think fame went up to her head, although she pretends she is joking, it's sad to know, that she isn't. She was using sarcasm to hide the real "her", also the way she made fun of TR was offensive, I didn't enjoy it as a gay man. She looks like she lost a lot of weight, maybe she lost even more brain mass. She was great in The Apple Tree, but I hope she doesn't host any awards ever again.

I thought she was a great host - the crowd absolutely loved her, though I do believe she was a bit tipsy. There were wuite a few drunken performers there.
ETA my sarcasm that wasn't clear originally.

I agree she appeared to be drunk. She probably wasn't, but it just appeared that way. Also, I think its ironic that probably more people in America would recognize T.R. over her, yet she still didn't know who he was.
OH PLEASE. Chenoweth is a brilliant comedian and she did a fabulous hosting job.
I hope she hosts again soon...
And you think of all of the things you've seen, and you wish that you could live in between ,and you're back again only different than before...

TR was forced to come out, because he was insulted, he didn't even really planned to do so. Being gay in Hollywood is very hard, yet, this girl feels like its ok to make fun of the fact that she knows he is gay, because of that horrible incident? How funny, HA HA.

She did not know T.R. Knight. (Even though he had presented earlier in the evening, didn't he?) If she did know, then she was mocking him for being gay -- "is this your girlfriend" is in league with all the Kevin Spacey taking his mother to the Oscars jokes. But she didn't know him. You can tell from the way she asked "Who are you? Are you famous?"
She overdid it with the -- as someone described on another thread -- "I'm short and squeaky" shtick. Also, she had a case of Julia Roberts-itis. No matter who's being honored or what's the subject at hand, make it about me ME ME!!!
And once she referred to the message boarders as using "Ilovetheatermorethanmycats dot com," that became obnoxious. Referring to someone's preoccupation with cats is shorthand for Loser, as anyone who's ever watched tv would know.
You know, talented people are not infallible -- to everyone who's defending her like she can do no wrong.
I thought it was a harmless joke, meant to be a snide chuckle - I don't think he was insulted by it.

Are you all serious? Of COURSE she knew who T.R. was. She probably had a seating chart to come up with material before the show as well. And no, she wasn't making fun of Knight for being gay. She was poking fun at an issue that got blown ridiculously out of proportion a few months ago. Lighten up.
"Goodness is rewarded. Hope is guaranteed. Laughter builds strong bones. Right will intercede. Things you've said I often find I need, indeed. I see the world through your eyes. What's black and white is colorized. The knowledge you most dearly prized I'm eager to employ. You said that life has infinite joys."
THANK YOU, magic8ball. The girl knows who TR Knight is; it was a JOKE and meant to be taken lightly. She went a little overboard at times, and she certainly came across as narcissistic, but it seemed like she was just playing it up for laughs. Most show hosts are boring as hell; I'm glad she was at least interesting. She certainly made me laugh.

Clearly she knew who T.R was. That is why she said "are you famous?". She knows he is on the #1 show (not reality) on t.v. She did a great job on her first hosting job and I am glad she lost weight. She look good. Lighten up people it is just t.v.
i hate the fact that since paula abdul was publicly accused as being "drunk", anyone on tv whose personality isn't completely flat or just boring gets accused of the same thing.
anyway, i loved her performance, it broke up the monotony of the ceremony (aka reading names)
I found her bit with Vanessa Redgrave particularly sad, though otherwise, she was alright I guess. Again, I've only watched segments of her on the site that must not be named. Perhaps on a whole she was good.
I wouldn't say the segment was hilarious, but some of you people are taking way too much offense to it.
