I want Annaliese Van Der Pol to get a job on like the Wicked tour (Wicked specifically.... since it's like a machine one can rarely escape), just so people stop suggesting her for every single female role available.
We can all pretty much count on Samantha Barks as Eponine, right?
It's still 8 or so months away. We likely won't hear for awhile, I would think. I wouldn't be suprised if we don't hear until after the first of the year. Contracts are not signed this far in advance, and they don't usually release information without that. IF they get any big names, I suggest it would be sooner to drum up big business.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

THANK YOU. She's good and all, but I don't see what makes her phenomenal.

I agree with Sam Barks as Èponine - she was phenomonal in the movie. I would like to see Andrew Varella as Javert, he is fantastic in the tour. I could also see Aaron Tveit reprising his role as Enjolras.
I think Andrew Varela deserves the chance to play Javert on Broadway-he sure has been on tour for awhile.
I think if Samantha Barks' schedule allows her to play Eponine, she would be terrific. (I must say I like the casting of Samantha Hill in the Toronto production as Cosette-she's a lovely soprano without that shrill upper register which I've seen a couple of ladies in that role fall into. Maybe they can bring her to the Broadway production.)
The tour just closed last night; Andrew was Javert the whole time. A new face would be interesting, but I wouldn't object at ALL if he was on Broadway too. :)

I'd hardly complain if Paolo Szot was Javert. However, I do believe his schedule is pretty full with opera engagements. I also would like to see Andrew Varela get the chance to open the show on Broadway as I feel like he's earned it.
Paulo makes what Javert should do at that moment. we are so used to hear voiceless people doing it so we really forgot how powerful and intense Stars should sound. The only delicate moment should be....Stars, in your multitudes... and does it in a singular way, linked with the previous phrase and in such intense pianissimo. Let's not talk about the end which is just as phenomenal as it can get. NO One can make it they way Paulo does.
and Dave19, I think you speakers are deformed.... sorry.
A lot of the ensemble/understudy offers have gone out and I know there's been several principals signed. So, I'd expect an announcement in the next few months.
I really hope Natalie Weiss comes over to Broadway. One hell of a singer who has spent the last two years on the Les Miz tour as a Swing.
