BSM would be an absolutely amazing Javert (as long as he never goes into his old man voice like he did with Sweeney. ::shudders::)
If The Mack could, he should try and get BSM.
Michael Ball would also be fantastic as Valjean.
I mean, MB and BSM against each other!

Wasn't there a mention of "big Marquee names."?
I'd say, the Dream Cast from the 10th Anniversary Concert in London...Colm, Philip, Lea Salonga, Ruthie, Michael Ball, etc.

Philip is going to be busy playing Peron in Evita, and therefore cannot play Javert.

BAll has sung Valjean before (at least in concert). Right now on PBS they are showing this series about Windsor Castle and they had the cast of Les Miz perform for the French leadership guests. Michael Ball was Valjean and sounded great on what they played of it.
I'd love to see Patti LuPone cameo back into her Fantine role. That would be an easy 6 month gig for her. Though Alice Ripley would be stunning as well.
As much as I appreciate Raul Esparza, this is not the show for him. I'm sure it would be interesting, but where would he growl? :)
How about Brian D'Arcy James for Enjorlas?
Gavin Creel for Marius
Laura Benanti as Cosette (or Kelli O'Hara)
I like the whole Harvey/Lea thing for the Thenardiers. i think that would be a stitch.
Since I've seen the show 3 times, I don't really feel the need to see this 6-mo special. But I hope they cast it well.

Isn't Colm Wilkinson a bit old for Valjean now? He's in his early 60's now. I know by show's end Valjean is in his 70's, but I don't think Wilkinson could convincingly pull off the "young" Valjean in the early parts of the show.
I'd love to see Cuccioli's Javert again.

I'm going to second Alice... she was magnificent.
Now what would you say if today I started over?
Without a thing but this taped together four leaf clover
And I'll pretend like everything is already alright
And I'll run toward the sun till the castle's out of sight

I would love to see Vicki Clark in there as Madme. It would be a stretch, but so much fun.
<< Gavin Creel and Kate Baldwin making vocal love... I adore these two.

Though it would never happen, I would love to see Emily Skinner as Mme. Thenardier.

I said it in another thread, but I'll add it here - I'd love to see Judy Kuhn as Fantine.

Anyone else besides Chiarra for Young Cosette/Young Eponine? What about Gavroche?

Forgive me, I don't know too much about Les Mis, but if someone could give me a quick rundown of the age ranges of the main characters, it might make my choices a bit easier.

Not to sound rude, but if you don't even know age ranges....how could you possibly suggest people?

Janine LaMama is fab, but she would be the oldest Eponine of all time. She's probably old enough to be Katie Clark's mother and the characters are the same age.

Alice Ripley was hands-down the best Fantine I've ever seen, but I highly doubt she'd be doing this production as she is taking an extended break from theatre. I would love to see Emily Skinner as Fantine, and I love the Judy Kuhn idea. Julia Murney would be fabulous, too.

I don't know if he'd do it again, but I am all for Terrence Mann as Javert. Even though I've seen other "good" Javerts, Terrence is *the* Javert.
I love Alice Ripley--I'd love to see her Fantine.
(But I'd also love to see Julia Murney!)
And someone call Raul and tell him to play Enjolras. Please!
Edited to include: Max von Essen as Marius. =D
