Well, I would hope since the show itself has a great deal of "marquee value" they would give some unknowns a chance in the spotlight, but that's just my opinion.
I think Ems should play Fantine Catherine Burnell as Eponine (she was the best on broadway) Christoper Mark Peterson as Enjolras Katie Clarke as Cosette
Elaine Strich as Javert Carol Channing as Jean Valjean Melanie Griffith as Eponine Brook Shields as Cossette Nathan Lane as Marius Mattew Broderick as Enjolras Rosie as Fantine
Now what would you say if today I started over?
Without a thing but this taped together four leaf clover
And I'll pretend like everything is already alright
And I'll run toward the sun till the castle's out of sight
If Warlow did it I would be the first to buy a ticket. However, he has said multiple times that he would NEVER come to America.
David walked into the valley
With a stone clutched in his hand
He was only a boy
But he knew someone must take a stand
There will always be a valley
Always mountains one must scale
There will always be perilous waters
Which someone must sail

I understand that Cam. Mackintosh will be in NY the end of the month for some Mary Poppins business. I imagine his priority would be to choose his 2 males (Valjean, Javert) in his best interest. Much will depend on what the offer is, who will accept it and what if any plans go beyond 6 mos.
Not to take away from the ladies, Fantine & Eponine, who are also considered major roles with some wonderful former talents.
But imo, he'll choose to make his best offers to the male leads first and work from there. Again, just an opinion.
I'd love to see Sutton Foster as Eponine, but she'll be in Drowsy Chaperone. I wouldn't mind seeing Caren LynManuel as Eponine, either.

I chose, and my world was shaken- So what? The choice may have been mistaken,
The choosing was not...

Not that Anthony Warlow would do Les Miz in the US, but I would suspect he would be more likely to reprise his role as Enjolras or play Javert, rather than Valjean...but I bet he would do a great job as Valjean!
Call me nostalgic, but I would love to see Colm as Valjean again. I also like Phillip Quast as Javert, but wouldn't mind seeing Robert Cuccioli in the role again. Kelli O'Hara or Christiane Noll would make a good Cosette.
(Geez everyone I have mentioned in this post has been associated with J&H at some point!)

You left out Harvey Fierstein as Thenardier and Lea Delaria as Madame Thenardier!

YEAH! That does work better! It would be hilarious!
