If you are using a phone switch from mobile version to the full desktop site and it lets you choose your seats from what they've made available as member seats.

Absolutely not. This won't be like the embarrassing Here We Are debacle where everyone bought a membership to the Shed assuming that weird show would sell out within minutes, which never happened of course as there was plenty of seats throughout the entire run.

This is comforting to read. Thank you! I love theater, but I have never been to a show actually on Broadway; however, The Sound of Music would be the one I would actually go and see at Lincoln Center, and I'm not a member, so I was worried about how hard it would be to buy a ticket.

Sat in the queue for 25 minutes and when you get to the buy page it just cycles “loading” forever. Been here for 40 minutes now - same for my wife on another computer on another network.
Hope their new online system gets in no pace soon. It’s needed.
Edit: ended up using my phone and got L 202-203. The computers still stuck on loading the map.

In queue for about 15 minutes then got in and got two tickets in Right Center Orch for late April. Really looking forward to this. I had purchased tickets to see the O'Brien tour in Detroit last March but couldn't make it at the last minute.

Went in person to the box office, waited an hour (while listening to every septua/octogenarian around me complain about buying tickets online), and got my first preview dead center orchestra ticket no problem. I also grabbed my ticket to A Few Good Men while I was there. Saved myself $10 in online fees. My first year as a member and I’ll never do a LCT presale any other way.

Member prices are flat rate; I got J310-311 for $94.75 each. More than paid for the $56 membership even without A Few Good Men and the others I intend to see.

I think it’s super weird we haven’t heard any further announcements regarding the Damn Yankees revival… is it still happening for Soring 2027, perhaps they’re waiting for a current running show to announce their closing… it’s worth noting that as of right now The Imperial & Broadhuest Theatres currently have no announced future tenants… I hope this revival doesn’t go the way of the Dreamgirls revival…🫣

As an out-of-towner, with a trip planned from late March into early April, am I better off getting an LCT membership - even if it’s just for The Sound of Music - or can I safely wait for general ticket sales?
I see the early access option starts Sept. 9 and that there’s an American Express presale from Sept. 10 until general admission and LincTix sales start Sept. 17.
As I have a short window and always worry about high early demand for high-profile musical revials, I am curious about the best options for me.

I think you will be able to get tickets without a membership, just the prices will be higher. It looks like they hold back lots of seats during the member sales. For example, I have never seen any seats on the aisle ever available when I've gone on to book member seats.

The orchestra prices for non-members were more than we wanted to spend, and availability wasn’t great, so we got center loge (fourth row) for $145.50 each under the American Express presale for early April. I have never sat in the loge at Lincoln Center so that will be interesting.
There are plenty of American Express loge seats available, both at higher price points and some cheaper ones on the far sides.

What were they asking for orchestra seats?
I sat in the Loge once when I was inexperienced with looking for best discounts and had bought last row early but then at the show* the entire Loge was actually empty and I was able to move down to the first row. Half the orchestra walked out at intermission. The usher was like, "You need to stay in the seat you paid for." And I said Go F Yourself. Center the view should be good.
*Ethan Hawke as MacBeth. Not all movie stars should do Broadway.

Prices as of now: Orchestra seats are $321 in the center three sections, $281 on the far sides. The front row of loge towards the center is also $281. The AmEx presale doesn’t appear to apply there.
We chose the fourth row of center loge - for $145.50 - because the third row was about $90 more.
I have no idea about how the show will be staged so I decided against the cheaper seats on the far sides in loge. Those could turn out to be bargains. There are plenty of loge seats available at the moment. You can sit almost anywhere.
As mentioned, I have never sat in loge at Lincoln Center. I know it’s further back but I assume the seats will be OK.
Just taking a wild, hopeful guess: I don’t think the audience will flee at intermission during an early performance of The Sound of Music, even if they hate it.

Woof. That's a lot more than I was expectijng/hoping. Luckily for me my wife hates SoM so at least I only have to get one seat for me

I don't know if it will be the same as the Amex presale for A Few Good Men, but the available seats for that were more than I wanted to pay. So I waited for the general sale and the orchestra seats were actually cheaper. And there was a good choice of seats available.
The only issue with the loge seats is leg room. Otherwise, they're fine.

I might have been better off waiting for general admission next week but ticket prices for the orchestra would have to drop a lot to make it worthwhile. I didn’t want to pay more than $200 per ticket, or anything close, to see this revival.
My operating assumption for high-profile musical revivals like this one is that it’s hard to get bargains if you’re trying to see it early, which I have to do because that’s when my trip is scheduled. It will probably be easy enough later unless the revival is a big hit.
I still may have acted too early.
