they aren’t in a ‘watercolour’ style at all."
I meant that McMullan's work was in a watercolor style. But my apologies. I was comparing them in a hand painted style.

FYI, the Whoopi Monologues aren't cheap and the first few weeks are nearly soldout. Tickets are +$100.

Yeah. I’m an LCT member and they are holding so many premium seats back the only seats available were the terrible seats all the way to the left and right. I spoke to LCT about it as it seems this dynamic pricing model has become the norm there especially for productions that they anticipate will sell well. It definitely undermines the benefit of membership and is different from every other non-profit I have subscribed to though I realize the entire membership concept at LCT is a different model than most non profits. I didn’t care to see this since I liked the one woman concept of the original, though I would probably have gotten tickets if there was better availability at the normal LCT pricing.

Those hoping for SOM to be a sumptuous revival of the likes of South Pacific and King and I are in for disappointment given where we are economically and who is directing this. Sumptuous is decidedly not something Lear is known for.

UGH! So disappointing. Hope it's the opposite when all's said and done. I'm more curious about whether they will include I Have Confidence and Something Good, and if so, whether they'll use the new Something Good lyrics written by Jack O'Brien. As for the book itself, if they decide to be traditional, then I hope they use the original book as performed 1959 and not the later book that included minor tweaks and deletions (i.e. eliminating Elsa telling Max he's talking like a royalist during the party scene, and eliminating Maria saying "I like the kindness in his eyes. I like the way he speaks, even when he's stern. I like the way he smiles at little Gretl" when questioned by the Mother Abbess if she loved the Captain).

I wish it was Bart Sher. Feels strange to have a R&H revival at the Vivian Beaumont without him at the helm.

On Twitter, Michael Musto is saying Patrick Wilson as Captain Von Trapp at Lincoln Center is still very much a thing, and that Heather Headley has been approached for Mother Abbess.

Heather Headley is an exciting choice, but I’ve consistently heard her say she is not interested in a long run. I also wonder if she would really take a part that small. Her casting suggests that the casting here is racially conscious instead of racially blind.

Is anyone a member that could let me know the prices on A Few Good Men. Also could anyone tell me the schedule for the week of Nov 10-15th? Sorry for the annoying ask, just curious on where I can fit this in

Who says she’d do a long run in this? The initial run is about 16 weeks, and it may be that HH has the option to leave at that point.
Something closer to racially conscious casting is generally the M.O. for theatre these days, being that everyone perceives race. Especially for a show like this where it would be distracting to have, say, a Nazi sympathizer like Elsa be played by a woman of color.

She might be drawn to a featured role that gets to close out Act 1 with a great song.

I wonder about the music elements of this, if it will be super traditional or new arrangements to suit the vocal talents of the leads. I haven’t seen any music personnel announced. The Mary Martin keys for Maria are quite low compared to Julie Andrews. I’ve really only seen/heard Jasmine belt — for all I know she could have a soprano!

Oh thanks for this. I was trying to find this myself and couldn't. Thanks for the link.

Long time lurker, but this is my first post!
I just bought a ticket for November, and it looked like all of the seats were $104.75. Not sure if that's just the Member pricing, or what they'll be in the future.

Welcome. Yes that's member pricing. They sent out an email last week with prices. Previews in October are about $10 cheaper - again member pricing.

Does anyone else keep getting a system error whenever you try to check out?
Edit: tried with a different phone and got it to work
Edit 2: might make for too play heavy a day, but all that worked for me was a Wednesday evening when I'm seeing Much Ado for the matinee that day.
