My wish for this show has always been that it would catch on with the general public as a sort of American Les Mis.  It's remarkable that a show this beloved by the theater community remains largely unknown to the broader population. At any rate, I'm excited for this revival and really hope we get a new cast recording of this exquisite score.

Where do you see that the full cast is transferring? The article says casting is not announced yet.

The upcoming West End production starring Adam Dannheiser is coming to NYC next spring after a UK tour in the fall.

I’d personally be completely exhausted (in a bad way, not an artistically fulfilling way)by an opera followed by a 3+ hour musical about racism and antisemitism at the turn of the century, regardless of how close the buildings are to each other. I would need a heavy nap in between."

 

I agree; as an alternative, think about seeing something lighter on Broadway.  I would leave this for the night, however, and see the other show in the afternoon (which is what I intend to do).

 

Kad said: "Kate Baldwin sang “Back to Before” at the Broadway leading ladies concert at Town Hall a few weeks ago and absolutely brought the house down. I would love to see her play the role, even though it seems unlikely."

Baldwin would be my number one pick for Mother. IMO the best voice on Broadway and she deserves a lead role like this.

If memory serves, EDSOSLO was swearing up and down that Ragtime was taking the Palace after Tammy Faye. They repeat gossip as fact. Lots and lots of salt/
