Kate Baldwin would be divine.
I thought the City Center production was okay with lots of room for improvement. I didn't love Levy, Donnell, or Nichols. I don't have incredibly high expectations for this production, but I hope Lear & David Rockwell & co. further realize it as a full production.

Baldwin would be my number one pick for Mother. IMO the best voice on Broadway and she deserves a lead role like this."
I want to live in this reality. Caissie is great but she was miscast and wasn't able to show character growth. And I would love a stronger Sarah as well. Is Joaquina still busy?
Baldwin is one of my favorite Broadway voices, as well, and it’s really a shame she has yet to have that big, undeniable star role fully materialize.

Why? So he can show up for maybe 2-3 performances a week? His past attendance has sucked.

I'd love to see a new Sarah, i thought Nichelle was the weak link, sadly. But Caissie Levy was fantastic, and had particularly natural chemistry with both BLR and Henry. It was the scenes with Colin Donnell that didnt work...

I wonder if his Camelot attendance was affected by side effects of long-term covid. He didn’t have any attendance issues prior to the pandemic. He is, obviously, still a remarkably talented performer; I hope his health issues have subsided.

Yes, it's all I can think about right now. Lincoln Center adores Jordan, so that should be up next after Ragtime! :) And Jordan always had excellent attendance with the exception of Camelot due to the slope of the stage, which created major back problems for him. I saw him at The Muny last year and he sounded stunning.

Untrue. He missed quite a few performances of MY FAIR LADY, as well as nearly the entire 2-week City Center run of INTO THE WOODS.

omg, he literally had covid! what did you expect him to do? People like you insisting performers must show up for every single performance is so asinine.

Calm down, dear. No one is saying he didn't have legitimate reasons for being out. We're just talking about his attendance in the show. If it makes you feel better to place an asterisk there, by all means please do.

"We" are not just talking about his attendance. You are. Unfortunately.
