In Atlanta at the tour performances, there were bare butts.
As long as there's no frontal nudity, even here in the ultra-conservative south, would that really be enough to bother censoring? Maybe that is why some of the PBS affiliates are airing it later in the evening, to put any potential nudity after 10 pm?
Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing it!

@Huskcharmer If you are in the North Texas area like I am, the only time listed is tonight at 7pm CST. Is it KERA 13 for you, as well?

I want to set my DVD recorder (don't have TIVO nor DVR) and I don't remember how long this production is-----(I've only seen it 3 times). Would I be safe in recording it until 11 (if it begins at 8? Is it an airing of an actual real-time intermission or is there a pledge drive in-betwen?

I believe they interviewed members of the cast and creative team and aired them during intermission of Light in the Piazza.

Yes, that's exactly what happened for LitP. Pre-recorded interviews with the cast and creatives were shown, as well as live announcements from backstage by Beverly Sills. Intermission will take exactly as long as it does in real time, since it's a live show. I don't recall the running time, but if you're recording until 11, you should be good.
I believe the program is scheduled for three hours. I programmed my DVR to record for any extra 15 minutes, just in case.
I was wondering if someone could speak to anything different that may happen when a show is being broadcast live? I.e. do the actors prepare differently, are there camera crews backstage or only in the house, are special announcements made to audience members to try to prevent disruptions during the broadcast etc, etc?
I'm in the UK...does anyone know if it will be possible to view here?
Anyone have a link like someone posted for the Tony Awards?
Will it be available to view anytime after?

I'm sure it will find its way onto youtube at some point.
Doesn't PBS usually release these on dvd later ?

Well, as I said Barbie, there was a camera crew backstage for LitP for Ms Sills. There are other changes, most specifically in lighting. It needs to be much brighter for the cameras than it would be for a regular show. Nuance is obliterated. Yes, they make an announcement of sorts, but any audience member who doesn't get that this is a special show would have to be a very dim bulb indeed. Cameras are everywhere and very obvious.
ghostlight, I would assume there are also special tech rehearsals so the camera crews can work out which cameras will be shooting at specific times and from which angles, etc?

More or less, yes. I'll try to find you a link from the director discussing the LitP broadcast that can explain better.
eta: No, Live From Lincoln Center is broadcast live, and unless contracts have been changed, can only be shown once more. I believe you're thinking of the COMPANY performance. A wholly different contract was negotiated for that.

Looking forward to it. I just saw the National Tour in Denver and it was really good. For Denver people, it is on at 7:00. I put a reminder up on the BWW Denver page.
The most recent Lincoln Center broadcast was Camelot which was never released on DVD and only aired once as far as I know. There were cast interviews during "breaks". So we can assume the same with SP.

What?
The most recent Live From Lincoln Center was Light in the Piazza, and it was only shown live, then allowed to be rebroadcast once more. Camelot wasn't even at Lincoln Center. What ARE you talking about?
8PM in Boston, can't wait!

Well, I totally missed that one, Eris. My sincere apologies. I am used to LFLC being only from the Vivian Beaumont.
Again, my apologies. Thanks for the link.
Camelot, starring Gabriel Byrne, Marin Mazzie, Nathan Gunn, Fran Drescher, Marc Kudisch, and others, was indeed a one-time Lincoln Center performance. While it had its moments, Byrne was totally wrong as Arthur, and it dragged everything down.
philitalia- You are confusing Live From Lincoln Center with Great Performances. The Live From Lincoln Center broadcasts are NOT released on DVD because of the contracts.

At least there were leather pants.
