I would also assume Side Show chose "Ready to Play" because it's in the slot where "We Share Everything" was and that's what the original production performed on the parade. It's peppy, etc.
What's going to be on CBS? Don't they usually have performances.
Pippin and Matilda are both performing.
Scratch Honeymoon in Vegas from the care about list.
Kinda makes you wish they'd gone with a revival of "Golden Rainbow" instead.
Duplicate.
Honeymoon showed Danza's vocal limitations but did highlight the fun aspect of the show
Sideshow scored without highlighting the subject matter
Last Ship was good but was it good enough?
Auggie I saw Golden and it was the ultimate knock em dead opening number

YES!
Been switching stations and trying to find Pippin on CBS. Have I missed it at this point?
The Last Ship didn't look good. I hate to say that since I have a friend in the show, but Idk... looks... not bad, but not good.
Pippin is performing at 11 est. The last Ship wasn't to impressive, but Sideshow is really what the parade should be! It was amazing!
Side Show made a good choice-a peppy, upbeat number featuring its amazing stars. And Honeymoon actually made me a little more interested. It looked fun at the very least.
I liked Honeymoon too! It was fun and intriguing!

"Show Some Respect" is my favorite moment of THE LAST SHIP. It gave me goosebumps all over in the theatre. I still enjoyed it live, but am wondering if Sting is going to lead the number during his run. This was really Sally Ann Triplett's moment to shine, and she blew my mind that night in the theatre. I didn't mind him leading it so much to give the show exposure today, but I hope they haven't taken the number away from her in the show.
Also a very nice moment showing Sting pass the beer to Nail.
And also a shout-out to Sting who looks like he'll be doing magnificent work when he joins the cast.
Honeymoon has some good music.
omg. That lip syncing is awkward.
"Vegas": The parade rule should be: First do no harm.
"Last Ship" made me want to see the show.
"Side Show" fit so comfortably in the venue, atop that damned Macy's sign (a challenge) the simplicity of the number made it elegant.
"On The Town" Broadway doesn't get any better than this, ever.
I guess we're all having different reactions!
I thought On the Town came off the best, although starting the number with a pre-taped portion was a bit weird. My husband (who hasn't seen the show) keeps saying that the three male leads lack charisma.
I've been avoiding Honeymoon in Vegas because I hate that whole scene with the gambling and the showgirls, and I also despise the Rat Pack sound. This performance made me more determined to stay away.
Gentleman's Guide: Great number, but it's the one they usually do, and the background of Macy's was a bit distracting.
Side Show: My husband (who hasn't seen the show) watching the performance cold thought it was off-putting at first, seeing the twins, I mean, and then afterward he commented it seemed generic. I kept wondering if the freaks would make an appearance, although that wouldn't fit in with the timeline of the show. (Answer: no.)
Was this really the best Last Ship number to choose? The melody seemed really sing-song, with a lot of nah nahs filling space. Not appealing. (I'm seeing the show Sunday.) Although I give Sting credit for what he's doing. I imagine it won't be easy on his voice.

GGLAM was just plane boring and made me want to stay away from the show even more.
"On The Town" was a perfect performance. I loved that they started the telecast. I was beaming the entire performance.
"Honeymoon in Vegas" was okay. I liked the song, but it didn't really translate that well.
I thought "The Last Ship" was horribly boring.
Weirdly enough, I think "Gentleman's Guide" looked best, even though it wasn't a full production number.
Argh, I missed the Gentleman's Guide number!! Well, thank God for online clips.
Didn't realize CBS did things differently with their performances. Like not all being in the 1st hour Thanks!
I liked Side Show and On the Town the best. Last Ship looks boring. Yes, the people waving during the Gentleman's Guide performance were distracting and ruined it.
Does anyone know where I can see On The Town's opening performance? I slept through my alarm and missed it! Hah!
it will probably be on youtube soon!

I am watching CBS but taping NBC so seeing them later.
Matilda was first at 9 am and was surprised they did the same Revolting Children they did last year when it was on NBC...and sad they did not use the swings for When I grow up...they did the scooter curtain call version, without the bows.
But it was nice they let a lot of the kids perform - the regular cast and some of the swings(the other kind) rotated during the numbers.
Waiting for Pippin..
To be fair, Gentleman's Guide doesn't really have any big show stopping songs. It just so happens that "I've Decided to Marry You" is the closest they have to it. I enjoyed seeing the new Phobe (her name escapes me at the moment).
