I’ve been saying this for ages, he’s not only pathetic, I consider him a threat to the Broadway community."
I mean, I find him annoying as hell, but he's been right more than once.
"Threat" seems a little overblown. He's just the latest iteration of a type that has been hanging on to the Broadway community for decades, since at least Winchell. But these folks often find out too late that what they do all but ensures nobody will be there for them in the end.

I’d say normally he’s just a nuisance.
But considering the times piece on Maybe Happy Ending and his rumors almost getting the show cancelled before load in - that’s a threat.
Or harassing performers.

“His rumors,” didn’t almost get the show cancelled, it was the producers own fault for that dilemma. If you’re struggling to find investors for your show and you blame a single TikTok; you’re just a really bad producer.

Just curious what I missed about that idiot harassing performers as I may have direct knowledge about one such person.
Investors flee projects for any number of reasons and sometimes they're just looking for an excuse not to write a check.
There were investors who jumped ship on Porgy & Bess after Pat Healy and Steve Sondheim wrote about the show in the NYT. Same with reactions to Michael Riedel reporting on certain shows. The recent NYT piece about musical finances caused concerns among investors and producers with shows in the pipeline.
In the case of MHE, I know for a fact that show was in a very, very dangerous financial situation at that moment in time.
There will always be gossip-providers and people in the media who cause concern internally at show. On the flip side, there will always be people who overinflate a show prior to Broadway and proclaim it as the next coming of christ --- and then they get egg on their face.

I totally forgot about him, the algorithm has totally thrown him off my radar. Maybe because I would only get through halfway watch and never engage or like.

That MHE fiasco was real. Press releases were ready to go out before their angel investor stepped in and saved the day during load in.
Have had a lot of friends recently jump on board this one. Hopefully its money well spent...

Lost Boys is a whole new level of need...30 million budget and crazy running costs. Best of luck to them but they have been raising money for over a year and aren't close - had friends jump on as well and then backed out when their people balked at the numbers. Theater owner may be the angel on this one. Hope they can figure out how to get their numbers down - workshop was fun. Wish there was an out of town.

I read that The Lost Boys was capitalized for $25 million, so higher than average but not near some other shows that are in the works.

Is Patrick Wilson only producing this as a promise to Joel Schumacher?

Per this SEC filing from 2024, the show/producers were hoping to raise 25 million. That number has likely increased since then.
It has. Significantly. It's reason they are letting more producers "in" on the show now. They need the money due to extreme ballooning of costs already by director and creative team - and some producing that has some producers jumping ship.
It could still be scrapped for a later date, west end try-out or altogether.

It's just funny to me for this specific show because I have more information than I usually do, and it's so interesting seeing CoffeeBreak (and others) make stuff up that I know, with 100% certainty, is not factual lol
Prove it.

Sometime just take the information in and do some homework. Like when you guys had a meltdown and called me a troll for saying Titanique was going in the the St James or when I said Beaches was getting the Majestic or told you QOV was struggling to raise its money or that there were good musicals with decent budgets that were getting overlooked because the biggest theater chain was bailing on new musicals this year. All played out. It is just information -take itor leave it but the angry denial on here is nutty. As for "prove it" they are already asking for more money so if they had it all as you guys keep saying why are they asking for more? And why is the theater owner now a GP and how much are they contributing to the show to take on that role if it already has all its money. Just do simple math. Okay? And quit thinking it is negative when it is just information- Moulin and Death are both well over 30 and working."

or answer..
Are they still short on money and asking for new investors?
Are they actively trying to bringon new GPs?
Is the theater ownercoming in as at GP?
Has the budget gone up from the original paperwork?
Or what exactly do you disagree with Coffee on?
I don't think they will shut down. I think they will get priority loans if they have to.
People like the show but not the numbers and there is a fear of having no out of town after the QOV process. So prove something to us or let it go.

This is like the right wing playbook. Say something, anything, then say the onus is on the other side to disprove their assertion.
Reminds me of the last page in this thread where an actor was dropping out. Still hasn't happened.

It’s becoming increasingly difficult to keep track of this conversation between Ensemble1665759202 and Ensemble1711444445
hoping the music they have released so far isn't the "good stuff" because if so.... :/ is it all super generic pop?
