Curious what people think now that Funny Girl finally happened. I would say the following, probably in this order:
Dreamgirls
The Wiz
Best Little Whorehouse in Texas
Parade
Secret Garden
I would maybe even add The Sound of Music - hard to believe it's been almost 25 years.

I’d say at this point in time it’s got to be “Dreamgirls”.
Maybe for Encores : Raisin, Purlie, Two Gentlemen of Verona

I’ll say, while it’s been twice revived, I think we’re due for a Sweeney Todd on Broadway that’s not minimalistic as both of the revivals were. I’d love to see the show tackled all grandiose like Hal Prince originally did it.
I also agree with the mentions of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Passion, Parade, and Dreamgirls. Crazy to think the last one hasn’t been back since the first production.
My One and Only. This show made me cry happy. Tommy and Twiggy were "wonderful".

Well, how grandiose it will be remains to be seen, but keep your eyes peeled this fall.

I did a blog post about this not too long ago. The shows I listed were Dreamgirls, Guys & Dolls, Mame, Man of La Mancha, Oliver!, and Show Boat.

Ooof tantalizing. If this is actually true, I really hope that powers that be decide to bring Carolee back as Mrs Lovett because she was a miracle in that role at Barrow Street production a couple of years ago. Although, if this is indeed a Broadway revival, she might not be a big enough name.
As much as I long for a Dream Girls revival, I'm not sure we're there quite yet? With the success of the movie and tours and it's being doing regionally, I'm not sure the "NEED" is there. But heck, I'd. go see it.
I'd rather see some old chestnut like Mame that I've never seen/heard. Much like "Hello Dolly."
Maybe in a different vain, but I'd love to see someone take a crack at "All Shook Up." I just think there's a hit show in there and with the new Elvis movie coming up, I think there's going to be a renewed interest in his music for the younger generation.

She'd better than who they have in mind, who is about equal in name status as far as I'm concerned. Co-starring with Jake Gyllenhaal in a previous Sondheim revival isn't exactly the sole criterion I'd be interested in, but hey, I ain't them.
