I've loved Tam Mutu since he was in Love Never Dies in London. He has such a wonderful voice - does he get any big songs?

I’m in seat G1, same one I had for Kinky Boots, and it’ll be on the Windmill side. Hopefully this won’t have obstructions like you’ve mentioned - it’s the first row just after the cross-aisle in the lower mezzanine, house left...

I have that exact seat! Looking forward to hearing about the view from there!

He has a number in Act 1 when he formally introduces himself to Satine (Rolling Stones), and one of favorite parts in Act 2 (the champ de elysee scene).

Based on wikipedia, I assume you're referring to "Sympathy For The Devil/You Can't Always Get What You Want/Gimme Shelter" - is that correct? I'm trying to imagine his voice singing songs like those!

Funnily enough, I don’t think they were just able to chose the theatre they want from every broadway house.
erm- we’ll have the Majestic please. Bye Phantom.

Lol, also in G 1 in the Mezz for my show, small world!!! Anyone who goes before august be sure to let us know how the seat it!
But for people thinking this needs a larger theatre I disagree. Part of this show is being overwhelmed by the “Spectactular” and if you go in a bigger house you lose that immersion. Like when people were suggesting the Winter Garden I thought that was crazy. Sure, it’s a “big”
show, but frankly I’m not sure it’d feel so large in a larger space. I haven’t experienced the Hirschfeld with this show yet, but from having seen it in Boston, I frankly think it needs a smaller house

Same for me. It was the only ticket I could stomach the price on. I heard it was a good/comfortable seat. Sight line issues aren’t encouraging though

Went to see it because of Brantley's good review last year in the NYTimes and man, this is just one of the most disappointing things I've ever seen. The cast is giving it their all and the dancing and choreography are great but other than that I wanted to leave after the first 30 minutes. They have taken all the heart and emotion out of the movie and stuffed it full of songs that do nothing for the story. The megamix at the end really drives home that this is a Mamma Mia and nothing like the story from the movie Moulin Rouge. Hated nearly every minute of it. This is for drunk tourists to come to and clap and scream and talk through every number. If you like the art musical theatre than this is not for you.

I only saw it in Boston, but couldn't agree more.

Not really sure what you are going on about, since modern pop songs were in the movie. But that being said, the show looks terrible.

There's no comparison. The film had 20-30 modern pop songs in it, while the musical has 50-60. He makes a completely valid point.

Where do you see that? He saw the show in Boston last year, and he's adding his two cents here. Considering that it sounds like they've barely changed the show since then, there's no reason why he shouldn't voice his opinion about what he saw.

Commenting that you hated a show, including this one, is perfectly fine. But if this is "terrible terrible" and could barely get through it (allegedly) but he liked the singing, dancing, sets, choreography and actors, then I'd hate to see what he thinks of a show where he didn't like any of it. And on top of that, reminding people how much you hated something on multiple threads. Something's off...just my hunch.

What's "off" about it? Do you think he didn't see it? I also saw the show in Boston, and I can't disagree with much of what he said, especially about taking the heart and emotion out of the movie. The fact that he complimented the cast, the dancing, and the choreography makes it even less suspect.
