I was at the show last night. couple random thoughts...and I agree with most of the comments said above. First off, show was spectacular! No question one of the better broadway productions right now, if not the best, imo. Everything from the singing, dancing, set design, lighting, choreography, i thought was spot on. If i have one criticism, the couple fluff songs in Act 1 that had nothing to do with the story...take it out! boring! instead, add in another Moulin Rouge original song. would have been much better.
in terms of the view..I think many seats, even though arent marked partial view, might struggle a bit during the show from time to time. The stage is set up very different in this show vs other shows. It's extremely WIDE, and also if you look at the seating chart, the front of the stage goes deep into the audience in the front. There is some times during the show, when some action happens on the extreme right or left or front....when many seats could become partial view. buy the seat that you can afford and enjoy the show. you will see enough of the action to REALLY enjoy it!!!

What original MR songs are there?
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
Still think this was the wrong space for this show. It needed something more spacious. Especially if they’re just going to cover the walls. Why not pick something with better site lines.
My daughter who is my best theater bud, loved the film but doesn't want me to go overboard with tickets, as I am prone to do, so I started looking at the mezzanine, which was marked $99, but as stated on the Ticketmaster website, prices can fluctuate, and if you try to buy those tickets they are now $349 premium seats.
After being resuscitated... I still may to go ahead and buy two tix in the front center mezz.
However, in previews there are some CanCan tix for $399... Hell, maybe I should go all the way.
So, can anyone tell me if the CanCan tix are worthwile? And is Mezz first row, center, third row, good?
i am a fan of the movie, and i wish i was more excited for this. I havent seen it but the idea of them cramming in 87 songs bugs me- the audience is going to applaud at each recognition, and its just unnecessary. what i liked about the movie was how seamless the plot and these recognizable songs played with one another. Like a Virgin and Roxanne- it was perfectly melded into the story. Hearing the laundry list of pop songs here, is not encouraging.
Nor is it encouraging that they are minimizing Burstein? He has so much charisma, and i was hoping for an expanded role. Tveit is a beautiful singer and I know I'd enjoy listening to him, but he doesnt inspire much excitement as a performer. And while Olivo can be a great actress (she was a particularly touching Mimi in RENT a million years ago), I am not a fan of her voice.
add in the obscene ticket prices and apparently horrible sightlines and im gonna have to pass....
I got lucky. I bought tickets on StubHub for $125 each, fees included, and then their seller messed up and couldn't fulfill the sale. So StubHub was forced to offer replacements and they were a sizable upgrade to Orch row K. Granted, it looks like the seats are going to have a partial view (even though they're NOT marked that way).
But the Partial Views on Ticketmaster are $205 each after fees. So either way, I did pretty well for $125.
Are these the same producers as Hadestown? Frankly, this just comes across as theatre for the wealthy elite. They've set ridiculously high ticket prices, even for seats that are unmarked as partial view and chosen to sell their tickets through a site that not only allows for scalping to be easier, but actually encourages it.
Any production that uses Ticketmaster as their official ticket seller, should be ashamed of themselves.

Mezz A1 is Diamond Circle Seating. You have nothing to worry about. Seats in the Left and Right Mezz beginning with row G are $139 plus fees on weeknights. I think that's a good price, especially if you can get Row G off the aisle on either side. There's no row directly in front of you either. So heads shouldn't be a problem.

Yes, it is. Jujamcyn and Nederlander, along with the New Amsterdam Theatre, use Ticketmaster. With the exception of the Hudson and the Lyric, the remaining Broadway houses use Telecharge, which is owned by Shubert.

Then again Telecharge has been god awful anytime I try to look up tickets. The website looks straight out of the 90's and will sometimes just not show any seats for some reason. Both websites are garbage
The prices for this show were already absurd, and now the sight lines are bad? Woof.

No disagreement there, just didn't think it had anything to do with the show per se. Personally, I would prefer Telecharge all the way if they would just update their software/interface to put it on par with Ticketmaster's. It's buggy as all get out now and there's no real reason for it to be.
Overall, the seat is fairly good for the price. That said, you cannot see anything under the windmill. The sight lines seem problematic throughout the theater.

If you could have your pick of which theater it went into, what would you have chosen?

I'm not sure if it will be there yet, but A View From My Seat is a good source to see what the views are like for different seats in theaters :)
