It's so strange you are using the words "movie/film". Twice. This isn't a movie/film. It's a musical and due to the weather and unknown variants, it will be shot on a soundstage, like always.

Some folks on r/LiveFromNewYork were saying that too. He looks great in a tux!
I randomly thought about a post in this thread suggesting Sara Bareilles as Grace during a jog today. Upon my initial reading of the suggestion, I overlooked it entirely, but after some thought -- I actually don't hate it.
Edited to add that I don't hate the idea of Mandy Moore as Grace. I also think her current NBC connection makes her a possibility.

Mandy as Grace doesn’t sound bad. But she maybe busy with the final season of This Is Us.

Please no! He does not sing on pitch. A fuller voice please. Douglas Sills perhaps.
Maybe we all need to internalize that perfect is the enemy of good.
Just gonna throw this out there:
Billy Porter for Hannigan.
Hate me if you want.
I think Rachel Bloom would be perfect as Hannigan. She has the voice and she is as funny as they come without resorting to schtick. I also think Brian Stokes Mitchell would be a great Warbucks but they probably couldn't get him.

I want James Monroe Iglehart for Warbucks

Love both of those suggestions! But why do you say they couldn't get Stokes? He's a beloved actor, but I don't get the sense that he's in incredibly high demand (even though he should be). Does he have an upcoming project I don't know about? Or maybe it's that he's in demand, but just super picky about the roles he takes, in which case you might be right.
I love Keegan Michael Key, but I don't think I could take him seriously as the stern Warbucks.

That was me! Glad someone else agrees! I think she’d be a wonderful Grace and would give a different portrayal to what we’ve already seen with Ann and Audra.
I kind of like the idea of James Monroe Iglehart as "Daddy Warbucks" and Mandy Moore as "Grace", and whoever suggested Kathryn Hahn for "Miss Hannigan" gets two thumbs up.

^ It would be like a Tangled reunion between Rapunzel and Lance.

Bloom could be wonderful. Marla Mindelle as well.
I’m sure it will be color blind casting...

Very excited for this! Loving all the casting suggestions in this thread.
I'm not sure if she's too old for the role but would love to see Delilah Rose Pellow as Annie.

Taraji P. Henson will be playing Miss Hannigan!
OMGOMGOMGOMG!!!! <3
Somebody needs to ask Adrienne Warren how she feels about this casting announcement
Exciting! Loved her performance in Benjamin Button.
Does she sing? (Not that you have to be the world’s best vocalist to play Hannigan - just curious.)
Can she sing?
