popculture boy, aren't there quite a few vacant theatres on Broadway? I don't think there's a lack of free spaces...
Is six months long enough to possibly allow it to be nominated as a revival?
Or is it considered special theatrical event?
Or is it not elligible for any awards?
Just wondering.
NOW BACK TO THE HAPPINESS!

as per NY Times online, the show will be considered a revival, elligible for the 06-07 Tony awards. Only 3 years have to pass for a show to be elligible.
Wow. 18 years wasn't enough, clearly! It's a great show and everything, but all good things must come an -- actual -- end.
Les Miz was the first Broadway show I ever saw (I was 9 years old, and truly captivated by it). So despite the fact that I really dislike Machintosh productions, this show holds a special place in my heart.
Thanks, Yankee. I only read the playbill article!
Ah! Life is restored!
Let's begin to guess the cast, shall we?
I wish to see John Owen Jones do Valjean here.
And will they only bring Les Miz veteran back? Sigh,I so want to see James Barbour as Javert.

With so many shows trying to find a theatre....LES MIS is coming back...
sanda - it's too early to guess!
They said maybe marquee-value names?
I dunno. But I am sure the cast will be swell!

Um...just...whoa. So many thoughts are going through my head right now! I'm very shocked, very happy, and I have many questions. When do tickets go on sale, can it get a Tony, will it be sold out in 2 seconds, and...don, don, don...the cast? Oh, and it opens right around my b-day too. Well, I'm shocked. This is very cool :)

This is too cool! I hope you all get a chance to see it. I will enjoy it when it comes here.
Tickets on sale for June.
No casting yet.
And, if you read up, yes, it will be considered a revival!
I am psyched about this so much!!!!!
Yay!
Yessica, on the contrary, every theatre is booked (with the exception of the Schoenfeld where Chita is folding this weekend, very prematurely), and there are a lot of shows wanting to come in.
There is much more in store for Le Miz fans. Guessing is fun! Let's hang in there to see what's announced. It should be exciting.

YAY!!!!!!
i wonder if they will change the logo...
but im so happy, i never got to see this!!! :)
"What is Colm doing now adays? Bring him home to play Valjean once more!"
As far as I know, he's going to be in Pirate Queen.
Selfishly, I hope they don't change the logo.
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYY!!!!!!! I never got to see it ON BROADWAY! Only on tour. This is my favorite show and the one that got me into musical theater. I am so making a special trip out to NY for this. Oh ya!
my prediction? It knocks DRS's out of the Imperial and goes back to it's home. The Broadhurst is too small for the show revamped or not.. that is just my gut feeling.
This is good news if, for no other reason, Forbidden Bway can keep it in the show as it is one of the funny skits they ever have done. They probably will update it though
"at the end of the play you're another year older" HAAAAAA
The Broadhurst house is smaller but the stage is not much smaller than the Imperial, so there shouldn't be any changes in the production.
As far as casting, here's what www.broadway.com has to say about that, which is what I am hearing also.
"The upcoming Broadway production will use the physical aspects of the tour and will feature some current company members as well as performers cast especially for the New York engagement. "
The capacities of the Broadhurst and the Imperial aren't that wildly different and DRS is doing pretty solid business.
