For those who have trouble with the volume:
Get a pair of concert earplugs
They were recommended to me after WICKED brought me to actual pain and teas. I keep them in my shirt pocket and slip them in when needed during a show. They're quite effective. Cost about $30 on Amazon.

That's so great that they're open to changes and feedback. I was in row J side orch, and I didn't find it too loud. I thought Justin stole the show - he played the part perfectly, his voice is impeccable, his moves are great. I thought the 2nd act was forgettable and boring, and needs to be cut down. The plot is being pushed too much - we get it. That being said, I think young girls might love the 'reader' part of the story. I thought that the weakest link was unfortunately Briga. Her voice was pitchy all through the show (3rd preview), and she took the role too seriously. It seems her voice is more classical than pop, and it shows. I'd love to know what others think (i.e. maybe she was just off on this night)?
Can anyone remember the run time of Act 1?

Did anyone attend yesterday or today? Cast confirmed the song at the end "Passenger" was cut off from the show so I'm curious to know the replacement song
I was there yesterday but the playbill doesn't iist the songs and I didn't recognize it! Did the show always end with
the cast waiving a silver quill while the Reader writes her own story?

Yes, at least in the DC tryout it ended that way. But I'm curious to know what song replaced the original "Passenger?" Do u remember any of the words? I'm the biggest B fan in the world so I might recognize it lol
I should clarify the playbill doesn't list any changed songs. I wracking my brain but can't come up with anything. I'm only a passing fan and I'm guessing it wasn't one of her hits? If I'm representative of the audience, the change might not stick?

Got it! It must be a non-single, but not many B songs describe a situation similar to what happens there. I think of her song "invitation" could match since it goes something like "here's my invitation baby, hope it sets us free, get to know each other better, put your trust all over me". I would cry if that's the replacement, it's definitely one of her best non-single songs
Ashley Chiu, who plays Sleeping Beauty, is doing an Instagram takeover today on the show’s account, and it was revealed that on Monday, Jacob Burns will be on for Prince Erudite (which will mark his Broadway debut), and Salisha Thomas will be on for Betany.

I know this board isn't the place for this exactly, and Ill post it in the Buy/Sell page too, but I figure Ive seen discussion of the Oops50 Tickets, and well, here goes.... I have a ticket I need to sell for Monday June 12th at 8pm. (a physical ticket that I can hand to a person) And if this post needs to be removed, sure, the powers that be can do that too.
I purchased it last week, but was given a ticket for today's performance so now I dont need to attend again.
The ticket is $50 - Orchestra Row N Seat 3 (1 off the center aisle, house left) DM me if you (or someone you know) is interested!

FWIW, I was at the second preview, and also found Briga Heelan's voice to be problematic (especially towards the end of the second act when it sounded like she was straining for some of the higher notes). I also think the cast is having to "compete" to be heard over the orchestra which is cranked up to the max. So that could be part of the problem.

I saw the matinee yesterday and I really enjoyed it! It's just fun and silly and executed much better than I anticipated. I was expecting worse for Briga but I enjoyed her live. The vocals were mostly strong with a few iffy moments. She's just very likable regardless. Simard is a hoot and "Toxic" slayed. Is this a serious piece of art? No. But I enjoyed it so much more than some of the other "fun" shows I saw this season (cough bad cinderella). There were a few tech things that need to be fixed.
One of the lighted arch's that hangs was not lit with the others, and the set piece that Cindy is on for "Everytime" wouldn't stop squeaking as it pushed her out on stage...which was for most of the song. Very distracting.
I would definitely go again. It's fun, Britney's music sounds great and it's a pretty good cast IMO.

I was there last night-- show ends with Stronger. It's used in basically the same way as the other song (Snow, Charming, Step Mother, etc all have like a little solo line) but the lyrics feel a little more relevant.

omg write down the changes please. Another user said 'Passenger' was replaced by 'Stronger' at the end, so I wonder what song replaced Stronger. I'm also hearing new things in the set will be available today

Stronger used to just be much shorter. It's now a full number.
Seeing it this evening. Are they still giving out the light up bracelets or was that just a one time thing?

They hand them out but they only use them during the end of the show, so I thought the thing was broken for the entire show until 3 minutes at the end. There are definitely things they could add that to and it would make the show feel bigger than it is. It's a Britney Spears musical for crying out loud.

Bracelets were handed out at the Saturday evening performance on 5/20. Cast members said at the stagedoor that they’re still changing things in the show. I had the best time!!
I caught this on Saturday night and wanted to add my two cents.
Firstly, I walked up to the box office around 3pm and used the oops50 code for a rear orch seat (Row Q). Audience was a nightmare! Not for singing, but full voice talking and the woman next to me kept texting. Lucky for me, side orch was completely empty so I moved pretty far down at intermission. By the looks of it on Ticketmaster, they're not selling these seats but sightlines were totally fine so I'm not sure why (we're talking like 3-4 seats all the way up the side).
I love Britney, I'm a big fan of recent jukebox musicals (MR, Cher Show, & Juliet), gimme all the camp... but this was not it for me. I thought the design was cold and sterile. This fairy tale land takes place in an Apple Store? The pieces they brought in were cheap and unexciting. That squeaky staircase during "Everytime" might've gotten the biggest laugh out of me all night! I felt like an elaborate enchanted world would've served the show much better than that glass house (???). Don't get me started on the preshow. Sound wasn't too loud for me. It was explosive numbers like "Circus", "Toxic", "Crazy" and the unfortunately short megamix that kept this from being a total bomb.
The only thing I'll say about the book is that I spent the entire night comparing it to (the far superior) & Juliet and Bad Cinderella. I mean everything down to the quill! While & Juliet's "rewriting" begins in the first 10mins, OUAOMT talks more about "rewriting your story" than actually doing it. Between the strike, The Feminine Mystique, story's edge etc. I just found the lack of clarity resulted in an emotionless payoff.
The Clumsy and Prince Erudite storyline was underdeveloped and unnecessary. Just felt like a quick opportunity to be current and inclusive.
Briga was very likeable and is clearly pouring everything into her Cinderella, but I do have to second the weak vocals. It's tough when standouts like Simard and Jackson are singing circles around her. Guarini was really fun and the audience was eating him up, but his character has no real arc.
Despite all the negative buzz from DC and the disappointing direction they took with the story, I really went in wanting to have a good time but the evening fell flat for me. A missed opportunity for Britney's massive catalogue. However, I'll definitely be returning to see if anything changes... but only One More Time. Groan I couldn't resist.
Here now. From what I can tell, Act 1 is pretty much untouched compared to when I saw it during the first preview. I’m also watching it from the orchestra and it doesn’t seem too loud.
