He also told you to stay away from him. So your the dude in the red shirt?"
Hold on. Do we know if Dollypop is a man? From another poster's perspective, he/she comes off as being exceptionally warm and gratious about this entire revival, which would make me believe Dollypop is a woman. But if he's a man, then it's really more of a shock for me!
Dollypop, you had mentioned that Jerry Herman’s house in Florida was being worked on and that he would be in New York this summer. Is he finally coming to the show?

This revival is like gay musical theater heaven, why would this gendered silliness make any sense here?!
I don't think it makes sense anywhere, but especially here?!
Seeing the clip of her last curtain call and bow brought back the most amazing memories, a HUGE smile on my face, and tears to my eyes. Soooo amazing. Glad to have seen her perform. Absolutely fabulous!!!
I mean, I have seen a regional production of Hello, Dolly!, and the tour is coming to my city, but quite honestly, I'm Dollied out, y'all! This may be sacrilegious, but I don't even think Hello, Dolly! is Jerry Herman's best score (that, IMO, belongs to Mame.) Anyway, the hype surrounding this revival always revolved around Bette Midler being in it, and that is that. Like so many other posters have said, this revival probably wouldn't have happened without her involvement. I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I am just not the biggest fan of Hello, Dolly! (sorry Dollypop )
From these accounts, it seems like there was even more energy at the final performance than the first. Don't know how that could have been possible! Goodbye, Bernadette! Stunning performance, great reviews, good business, happy audiences. Apparently a great experience for you. Very successful run. Thank you to all involved.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

I just bought tickets for my 89th time and as my birthday falls on a Wednesday, I'll be doing a DOLLY Double-header. That'll bring me up to 91. "
Umm, maybe some of us have... lives? Sorry to break it to you, Dollypop, but... I think the hype/reviews for this revival have limited my overall enjoyment of the piece (which has also been soured, I guess!) It's great that you have such a special connection to this show, Dollypop, but for me, I guess the parade passed by a long time ago

Oh gurl... we get it. You don’t need to say it again . Stop being so bitter and let others enjoy. Enjoy the show as much as you can Dollypop!

Your love for this show through the decades is something I have so much admiration for. The DOLLY! glow is truly matchless! I hope we can all find something so good in our lives to have such passion for

Maybe your parade did pass by. Such a shame. And I have a life, and would still watch this over and over again if I could as well, with a long history of legends performing the role in which Dollypop has seen. Can’t wait to see the show again and again next month and in October. This revival was simply amazing, and the best time I’ve had at a musical in my life.
