Hmm....I'm not entirely onboard with Meryl Streep as Sister Al, bit I'll keep my mind open.
I just saw the play about a month ago and local rep. company. It was phenomenal and a half.

Love it! She looks exactly like I would think Sister Aloysius would look. Now, is she one of the busiest actresses in Hollywood right now? Didn't she just finish doing MAMMA MIA! like a month ago? It's so fascinating how she can do this incredibly campy musical and then a few days later switch into this dramatic, complex role. That's one of the many reasons I love her.
MichaelBennett, if the movie is completely cast, do you know who is playing Mrs.Muller? Will Angela Bassett and Ms.Streep be sharing the camera again? (I'm a big MUSIC OF THE HEART fan).

I love that she'll have "Mamma Mia!" where she looks all "Greek Islands lovely" and "Doubt" where she looks like Ebeneezer Scrooge all in the same year!

this play gripped me both times i saw it. i am anxious for the film.
i only hope all the exposition i've heard they are trying to do with the exterior plotline doesn't ruin it for me.

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
