Ok I wanted to wait until it was over to post my thoughts. Overall opinion: It was good. Not great, but good.
Allison Williams: Good singing voice, but I can't decide where I land on her acting. She was kind of wooden, but on the other hand, she her voice and mannerisms did resemble a tween boy like Peter Pan would be.
Taylor Louderman: Great! I liked her kind of understated but sweet take on the role.
Kelli O'Hara: Amazing, obviously.
Christian Borle: Also very good.
Christopher Walken: I mean...what? What a strange choice. I thought he was kind of a disaster.
I LOVED all the additions to the score! I'm definitely going to want to the cast album so I can have those new songs. I'm on the fence about the changes to the book. Some of them were pretty good, but some were very strange. The whole thing about Hook blowing up Neverland? WTF was that all about? Anyway, I'm glad I watched. It was probably a little better than I thought it would be, overall.
I actually got chills from Kelli's expression when she realized the kids were home paired with the music. Unfortunately the rest was unmoving....runs back to Cathy Rigby
