"Peter Pan Live"

Posted: 12/4/14 at 11:19pmI personally did not hate Allison Williams. I actually kept hoping she would come back during every single painful moment with Christopher Walked. He definitely was the weak link. I couldn't tell if he was bored or just being himself or both. Obviously Kelli O'Hara nailed it. So happy for the added parts for her. Can't say much for the story since I knew going in that it isn't a favorite show of mine.

"This is a professional production, he should have been great the ENTIRE time."
He has been.

Sorry to everyone else, but I take After Eight's recommendation above all, so I guess I'll be watching this sooner than I thought. Not tonight though, because it ends and 11:00 and I'd like more than 6 hours sleep
----
If you did watch tonight you will fall asleep...yes, it did not work unfortunately as it was just not entertaining lacking all the magic & fun that this musical is all about.
Just saying the truth ...

Sooooo disappointed in Christopher Walken. Hook is a fabulous, juicy role, and he just phoned it in. Wonder if he was sick or something. Allison did a very professional job, thought just didn't have the "zing" that other Pans (esp Sandy Duncan) have had. Christian Borle, of course, is always fabulous. The actress who played Wendy was great.
But Christopher Walken, geez, what was up with him?

I didn't watch the last half, but I did think Williams did a great job. Was she brilliant? No. Amazing? No. But I thought she definitely did the best she could and although she started off obviously stiff and nervously, she loosened up a lot and I didn't have a problem with her at all.
As for Walken...................................................

"CarlosAlberto, from what I've read of his/her/their posts, I agree with him/her/them on most counts, and I think he/she/they has/have great taste. Opinions that differ from yours are no less worthwhile."
Even though that user said in the first few pages "I am entitled TO MY OPINION", he can't seem to respect someone with a different one, or acknowledge other people feel differently about the show. Seems like a real idiot to me.
Loved everything about this show!!

Posted: 12/4/14 at 11:27pmI think Williams did great. She has a beautiful voice and really tried to be a boy through her "toughness". Academy Award winner Christopher Walken, on the other hand...

Rob Ashford should not be directing and choreographing these musicals for TV!!!
He's just the wrong person for doing it and the TV director does not have the right eye for adapting musicals for camera.

Posted: 12/4/14 at 11:28pmWilliams' acting was way better than Underwood's was last year. She wasn't as fun as Mary Martin or Cathy Rigby, but she did a fine job. She was not really a problem. Walken was just awful.

To those who complain about the camera work, it's freaking LIVE and sometimes nerves get the best of everyone. Sure there was a lot of "errors" tonight but I thought NBC did the best they could.
To all those who expected Walken to "liven it up".... What did you guys even expect? I mean....what?

Only fifty zillion times better.
And I don't think it.
I know it.
Now go and cry over Fosca.
That's the fodder for curdled souls like yours.

I'm sure kids loved it, the majority here though.....
Yeah...Not so much. Was there a difference of opinion on THE SOUND OF MUSIC last year? I can't remember.

Posted: 12/4/14 at 11:41pmWhen I think of Captain Hook I expect to see him as a villain and a bit mean. Not the WTF thoughts I was getting with Walken.
