Reefer Madness- Soundtrack?

Does anyone know if there was a soundtrack made for the Reefer Madness movie musical on Showtime? I have the DVD and was wondering if there was a CD available as well.

What a shame! I just caught up with this over the weekend and must say it was delightful! Wonderful performances all around. Christian Campbell looks great in a dance belt, too might I add!

There are "soundtracks" floating around, though...some good quality, some not so good. Mine is good.

Oh, I also read an interview somewhere that said they were trying to get the soundtrack released. So it may still happen.

I see the Los Angeles cast recording has gone out-of-print. If you want to spend some money, though, you can find it on Amazon and probably eBay.

I just bought that movie on DVD ---- I am not sure though if there is a cd :) I just felt like sharing that fact.

I remember reading on a board that the composer himself posted that he's trying to get the soundtrack released.

A friend of mine ripped the audio from the DVD and (subtracting dialogue) divided it into song tracks. If you're interested I'm sure I can send it to you. Contact me. It's not illegal (hehe) since it's just like watching the DVD with your eyes closed. *ugh* horrible metaphor...

And off subject, speaking of eyes closed, did anyone notice the tribute to Braille on Google's homepage. Does anyone see the terrible irony?

That's exactly what I did! Took me a long time, too :)

Here's a question--do all of your Reefer Madness dvds smell like brownies? Because mine does, my ex's does, and my friend's does.

It's kind of cool, either way :)

Originally all the DVDs were to come with a "special" brownie, but due to legal reasons they had to take them all out. That is why they smell like brownies.

Man I love this movie musical. It is my favorite movie musical that has ever been released with Rent being #2

They made a CD but it was promo only. It included a bonus song of everyone in the cast singing reefer madness ( I believe they play it in the credits?). I got it through my friend at showtime and was mad they didnt realise it in stores hehe.

I got mine from uTorrent. It's fabulous and great to be able to sing these songs anywhere now, especially Mary Jane/Mary Lane, Murder and Lonely Pew!

I've been hesitant to make any official announcement, but it does look like we are finally going to be able to release the soundtrack. Kevin & I remixed it for stereo a couple of weeks ago and are going through a bunch of legal clearance hoops. Once all that's done, we'll do the final mix and release it soon after that.

By the way, emo geek, I'm not sure where you got the information that we were trying to release the DVD with "special" brownies attached. It was always just a scented case. Fun idea, though.
