I love love love the choice of Sara Chase for Melissa. That's brilliant casting-she was so funny on Kimmy Schmidt and is really quick and smart.

Yeah, that's pretty great casting. A shame that this career bump (Gatsby and this reading) are happening at such a rough time for her.

I do wonder how Brad Oscar explored Aloysius’s softer side, as he’s played many madcap roles through the years. 

Ruthie Ann Miles and Joy Woods are excellent casting choices.

As someone who didn't have an Apple TV subscription until now (for Severance) and never saw Schmigadoon, with that first number, I couldn't stop myself from thinking "I JUST saw this in My Big Gay Jamboree" I KNOW Schmigadoon did it first, but still my brain just kept screaming it...

On the contrary … I actually found the rehearsal footage to be incredibly charming. Hoping this is a success at the kennedy center and transfers next season. The series never quite worked for me. So maybe its new home on stage will suit the material better.

I enjoyed the press footage and excited to see this production in a few weeks. There is no comparison between Schmigadoon (at least based on the source material) and the far, far inferior copycat Big Gay Jamboree.

Did they change Emma's song?  In the show it's the same song as "Enjoy the Ride" but here she's singing something else.
