The idea is to work and to experiment. Some things will be creatively successful, some things will succeed at the box office, and some things will only - which is the biggest only - teach you things that see the future. And they're probably as valuable as any of your successes. -Harold Prince
I was just listening to Bubble Boy The Musical this morning. Cinco Paul really is a fantastic songwriter. He needs a show on Broadway sooner rather than later.
Did we previously know that Jack O'Brien's production of SOUND OF MUSIC is returning to the road? (Presumably as an Equity tour, as I believe the Kennedy Center only books Equity productions of Broadway-adjacent titles.)
SCHMIGADOON! was entertaining enough as a TV series, and it makes sense that they would adapt it for the stage because at a minimum high schools and stock companies will enjoy doing it, but I thought the parody lyrics were pretty weak and the melodies were too close to the originals.

I agree with you on the melodies, but I thought the lyrics were pretty funny at times. I die every time at the end of You Done Tamed Me where the Billy Bigelow stand-in is parodying Soliloquy:
I gotta get some money And there's no way to make it So I'm gonna have to steal it or even take it
(Melissa) Those are the same thing
Or filch it, or pilfer it Or rob it, or swipe it Or nick it, or thieve it Or finagle it, or abscond with it Or purloin it, or misappropriate with it
Curious if they will go the falsettos route with the two act structure of two different stories? I think this could be a wildly fun night of theatre if they don't base it solely off season one. Let's have these characters wonder into as many different eras of broadway as possible!

The show listing page on the KC website notes that there will be new songs, and I would think maybe some of those were potential season three songs! 🤞🏽
Hmm... Maybe in the minority here but kind of wish Schmigadoon wasn't taking up one of the Broadway Center Stage slots. Would've much preferred a third "revival," consistent with past programming, a la Encores. But happy about Spelling Bee and Legally Blonde! Lots of exciting casting possibilities!
I am sooo excited about this! Can't wait and will be curious to see how many cast members are able to return (or want to). And in a spirit of yes and... i'd also still love at least a peek at that 3rd series (25 songs!) in some form or other.

To stick with the post, it looks like according to press release it will be based off of season 1. ...... I do strongly hope they only have a handful of songs from season 1 and 2, particularly worst brats in town, both versions and good enough to eat, (to me were the strongest songs) but mainly hope they have most, if not, all the songs they wrote for season 3 that never happened.
Although Schmigadoon is brilliant, I wish they’d just base it on the unproduced season 3. We’ve already had perfection from the first two seasons and I’d like to see something new from that universe. Hopefully I’ll be surprised!

Please tell me you're kidding with that suggestion
