At least the St. James won't be empty for long.

Any clue what TIME those tickets go on sale? Midnight Thursday? 10am Friday?
This sounds like it could be a lot of fun, but does anyone else thing Something Rotten! is an awful, awful title?
It's kind of strange but not as strange as MOOSE MURDERS.
iluvtheatertrash - I was wondering about the time too. The article says that the $15.95 tickets will sell beginning at 8 a.m. at the box office and online - but what box office opens at 8 a.m.?? I can't believe it isn't 10 a.m... Can anyone help confirm?
Still trying to ascertain what everyone is so excited about.
^An original musical comedy directed & choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, which on paper has a pretty clever concept, and could also mark the Broadway returns of both Christian Borle & Brian d'Arcy James!

I said Fun Home is now opening April 19.
From the Playbill link, with bold type for the reading comprehension impaired:
Originally slated to begin April 4 towards an April 22 opening night, Fun Home will now officially open on Broadway April 19.

From what I saw on the 5th avenue footage, it seems to be something about Shakespeare's competitors writing a musical. It feels like a "Drowsy Chaperone" type show.

The 5th is also giving all of their subscribers a voucher for a ticket to the Broadway run.

Sadly the video I posted in the St James thread is now private. It was a song from the show, and it just another song about show business.
What negativity SR-[Since deleted]..Publicity tells the public what a show is all about--provided they can read-of course.

Yeah, the show was just announced today and doesn't open for months. No one needs to know what it is yet...

They must mean online for 8am sales. I'm going to just order them. I know the fees are astronomical, but when the ticket is only $15.95, it'll come out to the price of a standard rush ticket. If I lived closer to the theatre, it'd be easier to go in, but...
The synopsis is online....it's not like it's a secret what it's about.
I love the title. It's from Hamlet (something is rotten in the state of Denmark).
I'm curious to hear what the score sounds like.
Was the video of that presentation in Seattle using two Spamalot actors? I saw it and it wasn't very inspiring.
Is the video still up? I was searching yesterday to see if I could find a snippet of the score just to get an idea of what it's like.
No. This was the link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWs7XCY79SQ&feature=youtu.be
Ah, ok.
Thanks Lizzie.
I agree with LizzieCurry. If it's the same video I watched last week, it was not good. No wonder they made it private. It was a two-person segment from the show. One of them was playing a soothsayer. When the other person gave him a piece of information, the soothsayer replied, "I knew that!" I mean, that was too old even for vaudeville! And the song wasn't good either. I'm hoping that this video doesn't represent the best of the show!
Lizzie, is that the same video you saw?
Still, I will try for the $15.95 tickets! It's not much to lose, even if I think later on, they should have done that out-of-town tryout! I mean, didn't Christian Borle learn anything from Smash?

That song was kind of terrible. Its an incredibly obvious, basic musical theater parody song. I feel like I've heard that type song 1000 times, but done much better.
Maybe I'm missing something?
Macnyc, yes! That was the one. So groan-worthy.
