As an aside, sold out matinee today. Thinking the Kamala effect is happening…have to admit, it encouraged me. Very happy I finally went. The show is growing on me the more I think about it.
Their grosses appear to have been improving the past few weeks since announcing closing. Any chance we think they could push back their closing by a week or two (especially if all goes well tonight/this week)? I always thought how beautiful it would be if they closed on Sunday January 19th, the night before Inauguration Day.

They won’t. Last week was a bad one for them, and they have to load out / load in for Snook.
Stage door tonight was packed but everyone was on their best behavior.
Everyone in the company except Cruz and the swings came out, and I also spotted Mayte Natalio exit as well.
I congratulated Shaina on the RAGTIME transfer and told her I couldn’t wait to see it in the spring, and she didn’t respond. I’d say she knows it’s happening. :)
Anastacia McCleskey confirmed to me that she is indeed continuing with BOOP!.
"Suffs" was something else today. Obviously very emotional. Jenn teared up immediately and the entrance applause was that like I've rarely heard in a theater before and many many more moments like that throughout. Tsilala Brock was streaming tears during one point and I think we all were right there with her. Standing ovation in the middle of the final song and audible sobbing even over the music.
I sat in front of a mother and father who had their daughters and (like me) bought tickets thinking today would be an incredible and joyous performance. Sitting next to two women in their 70's and more around me and everyone talking and sharing. And telling a friend about it afterwards, it hit me that this was like I felt on 9/12/01 sitting in Penn Station surrounded by shell shocked people who were terrified and confused and not knowing what was coming next.
But kudos to this cast for getting through the show, at a few points I thought they were going to have to stop to just take a minute to breathe before continuing. I truly can't imagine what that was like for them today. But I truly hope the love we, the audience, gave to them was felt.
Thanks for the report - I wanted to go today but didn't get out of bed until 1. I can't imagine how hard singing "How long must women wait", and so many other moments, were today. I can only hope it was cathartic and empowering for both those onstage and in the audience.
