The Hunchback of Notre Dame for sure. It was ready for it. I still have hopes for Prince of Egypt but I think it still needs some work in tryouts to be ready to go.
And just a obligatory moment of silence for the poster child for "the show that never was," Rebecca. *bows head*
Please tell me your joking. That was pretty gawd-awful.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
I can’t help but imagining an eventual revival of Dogfight in the next 10 years. A limited run type thing with a Star to play Rose and really playing up the score by Tony, Grammy, and Academy Award Winning composers of Dear Evan Hansen

It's sort of tough to throw in Off-Broadway titles into this conversation, because such a huge majority of Off-Broadway shows are created without any intention of moving to Broadway. So to say that they "didn't make it" is a little unfair. Having said that, I do think Heathers is a good example of an Off-broadway show that DID seem to have Broadway Transfer written all over it, but didn't transfer. Last Five Years is a bit of a strange one because it's such a small, intimate show that doesn't really belong on Broadway, but at the same time, it's such a staple of the musical theatre cannon, I can sort of see why it can be counted as one that could have transferred, but didn't.
The Wolves, on the other hand, didn't seem to be aiming for Broadway at all. That was an Off-Broadway play, through and through.
Hunchback , but would rather see the German production. And I’ve never understood why Witches Of Eastwick never made it too Broadway
Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist.
Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino.
This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more.

I always wonder what happened with Minsky's? It was rumored to be a lock to come to Broadway and then things just fizzled out.
Also, I second Hunchback. A damn shame it never made it to Broadway. The show and it's score are simply stunning.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
Regarding the stage adaptation of High School Musical, a big part of the marketing push for the first year of licensing was Disney promoted it as a Broadway-bound musical they were allowing schools to do first. Obviously, it never made it to Broadway, but that was the intention at one point.
