I just felt like adding a litle more love, as Bee has become my most played cast recording lately. I do not cease to be amazed by the cast, and by the music itself.
"We don't value the lily less for not being made of flint and built to last. Life's bounty is in it's flow, later is too late. Where is the song when it's been sung, the dance when it's been danced? It's only we humans who want to own the future too."
- Tom Stoppard, Shipwreck
If anyone's interested, a bunch of us from CKB Online *http://s14.invisionfree.com/Celia_Keenan_Bolger/index.php?act=idx* will be meeting up on Saturday, February 4th to see the matinee performance (standing room) and show some Celia love! We'd love to see you all there (I'll be with 3 or 4 other girls, we'll all be wearing CKB Online shirts)!!! Anyone interested? Reply here or PM me.
I saw the show tonight. It was great, I was in the lotto seats where the popcorn goes flying all over you. Jose and Dan broke character at one point and it was absolutely hilarious.
we did standing room(right next to leah5290 actually)and came across a very annoying usher, w/curly hair, has anyone else come across him as well?
LG: are you talking about the guy who when directing people to their seats does the whole "you're in row E for excellent, you're in row F for fabulous..." thing? I am always in aisle three it seems, so I've seen him. I actually kinda think he's funny- breaks up the monotony of the usher thing- but I could see how he could be annoying.
Fun quiz--My Spelling Bee knowledge base is sound--but my math skills remain questionable-- Liotte, I hope you can do standing room if you don't win lottery Report back. We count on you. Did we discover why Jose and Dan broke character and what they said?
Good show tonight, though it was very off- I bet I'm the only one besides the cast who could tell. There was SOOO much audience participation, people were calling out throughout the entire show, just comments at inappropriate times, extra laughing and clapping so some of the dialogue was cut off. Plus there was a different piano player/conductor, so the music wasn't as in sync with the lyrics and motions as usual. Still funny though. Lisa Yuen did a great job as Rona Lisa Peretti, her singing voice was beautiful and her line delivery and comic timing were good. She just looks a bit different than Lisa Howard, so it took me a few songs to get used to the change. A great night at Bee, looking forward to going back on Tuesday to see Todd as Barfee and Kate as Olive.
If you could pm me about it that would be great! I was there for new years week and loved it and wanted a program but was denied and now that I am back out in california...I figured it would be hard to get one from here!
Todd and Kate were both great tonight as Coneybear and Olive. I have seen them both before in other roles, so tonight was a fresh experience at the Bee. I sat in the popcorn seats, such a mess!
