I believe him and think it was a good statement. The movie will do well and this will be long forgotten 6 months from now, in my opinion.

If everyone I’ve ghosted joined forces, I would be executed within days. He fully acknowledges her and their relationship. At the age of 20! He obviously ghosted her and years later, she’s still pissed. Milking the rape card now. I’m curious to hear what is she expecting to come from this? Shut up and go away money? Jail time for Ansel? A brand new Land Rover? A role in his next film? A dance studio in New Jersey? She probably expected lots of other gals to join in and say the same things about him but zero has surfaced. Girl be pissed. She be like, where ma gurls at?

This whole Ansel Elgort thing has deflated quite quickly. The girl deleted the Tweet and locked her account. No one issued any statement regarding the situation aside from Ansel admitting to dating this girl when he was 20 and ghosting her. We can move on from this at this point. Whatever intentions she had backfired on her.

I can understand that Powell would obviously jump at the opportunity to be in that show and increase his profile, but that was kind of tasteless, especially since he’s in a production with someone who’s clearly guilty of being a sexual deviant.

And he was dead silent during all the protests, but the day an accusation came out that would potentially benefit his career he suddenly had something to say.
Anyway, they will not be doing reshoots for this film because of these accusations and anyone who thinks that is a possibility is delusional.

Plus, Disney hasn't done anything when the controversies hit the upcoming Mulan remake. You can bet they won't do anything with this either.

I already thought he came across as a bit of a jerk when he lashed out towards anyone disliking his production’s changes, but his morality so quickly bending to whatever will help him really brings him down in my book.

What is Spielberg or the producers supposed to do? Have charges been pressed? Has he been found guilty? What is he even accused of? The statement that girl released was very strange and vague, and she has since deleted it. Regretting a sexual experience doesn’t mean you were assaulted. This mob mentality without a fair trial is just insane to me. People are calling for him to be replaced in a major motion picture and have his role totally reshot?? We don’t even know what happened yet!
If he is found guilty of rape or assault I absolutely understand why people would have an issue with him in the film, just as I understood why people felt uncomfortable with Amar. The two times I’ve seen him on stage I’ve been distracted by his presence, because I know he is a sleazy guy who did really gross things.
It upsets me because this is why so many people, especially women, are afraid to come out when they have been sexually abused or assaulted. People like that girl who issued the statement about Aziz Ansari completely detract from people who have actually been raped and assaulted. Again, just because a sexual experience was uncomfortable or you regret it doesn’t mean your partner sexually assaulted you.

It wasn't vague in the least. She claims he forced her into her first penetrative sexual experience, it hurt, she said stop and he didn't, instead claiming she needed to be "broken in." Then he disappeared from her life. Zero vaugery. Is it true? That I do not know.
The whole idea of reshoots is absurd. You're going to reshoot all the location word done with Tony? You'd almost be remaking the entire film. How could that happen? They going to blue screen the new actor in?

The statement I read didn’t say anything about force or her telling him to stop. I’m also curious about what the age of consent is in her state.
