I want to see the outsiders on April 13 at 8pm. Brody Grant was out and Trevi Wayne went as Ponyboy. He was fantastic.

Josh was great as Pony Boy when I saw him last weekend! Very nice gentleman as well!

I hope someone gets to the bottom of the mysterious unexplainable absences of the lead and his understudy from this Tony-award winning Best Musical! There is no war in Ba Sing Se, etc.

I think you all forget productions don't owe you any explanation. These actors are not above the title, plus you don't know what's going on in their personal lives.

100%. ^This was a pro of Strobl's performance (I was there last night and have seen the show a few times with Brody previously)

I went last night as well and loved him in!!! I heard BG mumbles a lot. Also I am pretty sure i saw his other understudy leave the theatre so I don't think he was completely absent

I rarely post but Josh Strobl's winning performance of "Maria" at the 2016 Jimmy Awards, when he actually was a teen is on YouTube and I think he's wonderful. and I noted his name. Sensitive interpretation and very clear diction.  I can easily imagine him as a very effective Ponyboy

I thought Brody did great when I saw him in May. Do agree he mumbles. I’d be more than happy with an understudy just to see another take but also wouldn’t mind seeing Brody now that I’ve already seen it once and might understand it better.

I'd honestly be shocked if they weren't having appointments like...literally today..for a standby/additional cover. We'll see, but yeah, that role is quite a sing to take the risk of only having one available performer-and who knows when/if either person will be allowed to return to the show.

Brody Grant was on tonight. I am very happy I saw him. He was excellent. As good as all the elements of this production were I can’t imagine it being as successful without performers like Grant and Sky Lakota-Lynch and others to make it soar. Grant is young and even though it’s a business and it’s a business that many of our dreams are made of it is still a lot of pressure to deal with. But as far as I’m concerned Brody Grant is the reason to see this.

I haven't seen it yet but have had it on my radar to come to NY since March as I love the book - very important part of my childhood.

I would love if Mateo Lizcano was brought on to potentially cover for Ponyboy as a standby/understudy or alternate if Josh ends up taking the role on a more long-term basis. I saw him as a U/S on DEH before it closed and I think he has a lot of talent and potential!

It sounds like he was back indeed, originally understudies.org website had him out all week and Josh covering.

Just remember that while understudies.org is a great tool, it is not affiliated with any show. Its fan run and submitted so not always accurate.
