okay look, what we're doing may be cruel and sh.tty
but hey, life sucks, get a helmet. anyone's free to criticize,
yeah they're kids, they're amateurs, there's varying degrees of passion in these vids, and there's only so much money, practice and professionalism a high school can churn out
but still, some of these are just really bad. sorry.
You're reminding me of people you hear at the movies asking questions every ten seconds, "Who is that? Why is that guy walking down the street? Who's that lady coming up to him? Uh-oh, why did that car go by? Why is it so dark in this theater?" - FindingNamo on strummergirl
"If artists were machines, then I'm just a different kind of machine...I'd probably be a toaster. Actually, I'd be a toaster oven because they're more versatile. And I like making grilled cheese" -Regina Spektor
"That's, like, twelve shows! ...Or seven." -Crazy SA Fangirl
"They say that just being relaxed is the most important thing [in acting]. I take that to another level, I think kinda like yawning and...like being partially asleep onstage is also good, but whatever." - Sherie Rene Scott
I think that might be the funniest thing I've ever seen.
"Oh look at the time, three more intelligent plays just closed and THE ADDAMS FAMILY made another million dollars" -Jackie Hoffman, Broadway.com Audience Awards
I would like to congratulate the Blacklick Valley High School drama department. Without their horrid Les Mis, "Carrie" would forever hold the award for the worst costumes and sets ever. Nice to see someone else get that chance.
Marius has made my ears bleed. As for the Out Tonight, there was nothing redeeming at all. The singer was dreadful, as was her outfit. The choreography was terrible and the dancers were out of sync.
But Marius takes the cake. I'm listening to his Empty Chairs as I type. I want to stop it but I can't. I do, however, wanna smack that awful beret off his head and stuff it in his mouth. You all nkow the director thought the berets were probably the best idea ever! No...
Megan Mullally as Karen Walker on Will and Grace: "Tell me more. Tell me more. Like does he have a car?"
taboo123: Look, if I had YouTube videos of my OWN high school musicals, I'd probably post the link. There were a handful of talented kids in my school, but for the most part, the cast and the direction were always GAWDAWFUL. Its just a little cathartic to look at this and laugh at the memory of my own bad high school productions.
Do you think any of those kids have seen Hairspray and were thinking "Gawd I am so embarrassed/offended to be doing this"? Because that's what I'd be thinking.
Edit: Can anyone figure out exactly what the "new" lyrics are? Its hard to understand.

I will never understand why some high school directors put their students through such misery.
The fact of the matter is, 99.9% of high schools that attempt something like Les Miz, or Wicked, or Rent will be godawful because they are just too difficult to do if you don't know exactly what you're doing.
There are TONS of shows that can be done well on a budget, if the director knows what they are doing.
That kid playing Marius..... his voice makes baby Jesus cry. He should just stop.
"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen."
