"Disagree. I think that we'll see a Danny/Leslie showdown similar to the Kristin/Kelli showdown of 2015."
I highly doubt it. If Danny get's great reviews, He pretty much has the Tony in the bag. While the show of Hamilton got raves, Leslie was hardly ever singled out and didn't get that much of a mention. I think Leslie will get nominated but unless Danny gets terrible reviews, he pretty much has it. Danny is sort of in the same boat Kelli was in last year. The "Oh well he keeps turning in great performances and he's loved by all and we haven't given him a tony yet so let's just give it to him this year" boat.
It's clear that this revival of Fiddler is only happening because of Danny. Sher had ever intention of getting Danny that Tony this year.
I don't think the Hamilton actors have a lock on any Tony the way the show does, but until we know if people have an appetite for this Fiddler and/or for this Tevye, it seems kinda pointless to prognosticate. And Hamilton22, I think you better go back and reread the Odom reviews.
This board has been so helpful on my past trips to NYC for work. Sometimes on short notice; sometimes more planning. I know that I will be there the week of Feb. 29 (Monday) - March 5th. Even that far out, Hamilton seems to be sold out except for re-sale on Ticket Master. I am sympathetic to the rants about that.
Should I go ahead and try to buy something now or is there a better strategy to wait and see? I just need 1 ticket. Even my usual sources for house seats are striking out.
decotodd, get in line early for cancellations. The line forms inside the small entryway where the box office is, and I lined up last Friday at about 4:30pm. I was fifth in line and had no problem scoring two tickets.
Anyone else think that Hamilton might be the perfect way to get Sara Ramirez back on Broadway? She has an amazing gorgeous voice and I think she would slay Angelica.

Ooh, NICE one! Ramirez would be a truly excellent replacement later down the line...
Cross your fingers for me because I'm going to try lotto AGAINNN tomorrow. I don't want to wait any longer to see this show. Everyone is so tired of me listening to the cast recording! haha
Really? Others care about what you listen to? You could wear headphones.
But good luck.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
Put this now in the correct place, sorry Fiddler fans.
someone who lives in Californis will walk to Broadway if he can get a ticket. He is so obsessed for musicals and mostly Hamilton he will walk here! Pretty much he is asking for a plane ticket and a ticket to HAMILTON.

So I finally got around to listening to the cast recording, the last 6 months have been kind of all over for me so I never had a chance to just focus on it, plus I was scared it wouldn't live up to all the hype and I really wanted it to, so I didn't make it a priority for myself, but I finally did it, and I've listened to it three times now and I'm completely obsessed and in awe of this, and I can only imagine what it's like to actually get to sit and watch the whole show, which if I ever get a chance to, it will not be for a long time, so I'm settling for all the clips there are to get me through (and I watched all the 60 minutes stuff too and just found myself even more in love with it after that) I am lyrical person, and a sucker for those thematic melodies that weave their way into multiple songs, and this show hits all the sweet spots for me in the score, this kind of score is like porn for me, and I haven't found myself so engrossed in all the nuances of a score since I discovered The Last 5 Years (so you can only imagine how giddy that tl5y reference at the end of Say No to This, makes me)
Anyway, add one more to the Hamilton heard, I already can't get enough and honestly, this is the extent to which I can explain my thoughts at the moment, because three listens in and I have so many feelings in every way that I don't even know where to start. I was worried it wouldn't live up to the hype, but for me it surpassed it.
Also, it made me want to read up about our founding fathers and I hate history and politics with a passion, neither has ever been a strong suit of mine as far as studying goes, my brain just never was able to process those subjects, but now it wants to, which I think speaks volumes.
