If you have 'partial view', house right, I felt that there were only a couple of minor (not miner) moments when I was 'craning' to see plus a really big scene near the end that I wouldn't advise missing for first-timers. I haven't sat in house left partially obstructed view seats, maybe somebody else can elaborate.
Aside from this hand-full of seats, you will not miss ANY action from anywhere in the theater. The sets seem to 'taper' somewhat to ensure that everybody can see.
I think others have said pretty much the same thing, but I know this thread has grown to a few pages now...
Hey for anyone who was wondering about Trevor & wants to go to his first perf The press release did say August 18th but his actual first show is Sat August 22nd Matinee. Trent will be Billy. This is coming straight from his sister
Him & David will be doing four shows each. He will get his schedule two weeks in advance. So if you wanna see Trevor you can PM me the date two weeks before & I'd be more than happy to find out if he will be performing Smiley
That's too bad about Trev's start date being pushed to Aug. 22. Oh well. In any event, still very excited about bringing a friend who's seeing it for the first time tonight. :)
hey i saw it. well it was my 4th time and ive never witnessed him as tall boy. he was good at times yet seemed he was trying to hard. i prefer him as Billy. - Haley
I might try cancellation line sat eve. I have a question though, when do they stop selling the premium seats and offer them to cancellation line? Thats what cancellation line gets right, the premium seats nobody buys?
well it's called 'cancellation line' because they get the seats that have been returned or reservations that have been cancelled. but if there are any premium seats left by the time the performance rolls around, those will trickle down to the cancellation line too...
Im definately going Sunday, so I can text you. Sat night I can stop by and check for you if no one else can. Im hoping to do cancellation line that night anyways.
hello. you can do both saturday night and sunday, since i can't do saturday and i have a feeling i am not working this sunday. geredith def needs someone. thank you. i know i will be checking the board next saturday matinee and sunday.
"Thats what cancellation line gets right, the premium seats nobody buys?"
Yes and no. They can be unused house seats, or tickets someone isn't able to use and the box office has agreed to try and sell. Usually the remaining premium seats are released the day of the performance at regular price, so they most likely wouldn't be the seats you get in the cancellation line (unless those are the tickets being returned).
I'm part of a meetup group where you can get $42 tickets to Billy Elliot on October 21st. I think it's a pretty great price for a very hard-to-get-into show.
Oh yeah, lola, if you do end up going, we'll want to hear how Trevor does on his first show :) Or is he doing the mat? And curious how the Playbill article reads Aug 22nd and the URL itself reads Aug 31st...
