NeddyFrank2-if you put (UK) after a show title, it apparently makes you seem more well-versed.
Margo thinks he's 16, that's too old and mature, I think. That list, however, is extremely funny, and I hope he posts another one.

I just couldn't get past JUDY GARLAND up for best Broadway actress-- this is a poster with encyclopedic Broadway knowledge. I wonder if he's extrapolating that IF she had EVER appeared in a BROADWAY MUSICAL she would have been GREAT AT IT!
Imagine a category for "Best Story"??? Ha ha ha, that's too much, I really hope he doesn't go away!

Best Musical where the leading actress gets lifted by a cherry picker at the end of act 1 - WICKED!!!!!!!
This thread is starting to get entertaining.
Considering that nobody on this board as seen every single Broadway show these "opinions" don't have too much support behind them.
I hate that everyone finds the need to be so obnoxious about other people's opinions. Do we not all remember when we were 13 and first were introduced to Broadway and started to fall in love with it? I mean we were all inside our own little bubbles of musical theater at one point or another. Whether you didn't see a world outside of shows like DREAMGIRLS and A CHORUS LINE or WICKED and RENT, I think we can all admit that we had a phase where we didn't see a world outside of the musicals we originally were introduced to. And on top of that, these people that post about WICKED and MARY POPPINS and THE LION KING 24/7 could also maybe not afford to go to see as many shows as some of us are privileged to either due to where they live and its relation to the city or even because they don't have enough money to see a show a week. We don't realize how lucky some of us are to have the immense exposure to musical theater as we do. Some people just don't have that but will sooner or later realize that the best musical ever written is not WICKED. I mean look at my BWW name...you don't think I wish I could change it now? I know people don't take me seriously because of it and it sucks because I do see MANY other shows besides WICKED and my opinions are just as valid as anyone elses as are every single other person who posts on BWW. I just think we should all take all of these things into consideration before making comments...or at least give your opinion in a non-sarcastic, non-snarky, non-bitchy way. That's just how I see it...
We were all WICKED lovers or RENTheads at one time or another even though you may not have been in love with those shows in particular.
And to further comment, we should all be grateful in a way to shows like WICKED and RENT and AIDA and MARY POPPINS and LEGALLY BLONDE for exposing a new generation to theater and hopefully allowing them to continue to see shows and broaden their horizons.

Hey WickedRocks - I'm 33.
"Imagine a category for "Best Story"??? Ha ha ha, that's too much, I really hope he doesn't go away!"
I'm not going anywhere.
"think.. patti lupone? ethel merman? carol channing? bernadette peters? victor garber? michael cerveris? mary martin? nathan lane?"
1. Patti's/Ethel's/Carol's singing makes me gag. 2. I loathe Nathan Lane. 3. The rest aren't special to me.
The bashing is not appreciated, but it's getting so ridiculous, I'm beginning to laugh.
Okay well my post can be addressed to anyone regardless of age. I did address the issue of age in it but it can be otherwise dismissed and the other factors can and should be taken into consideration as well...
You're welcome, by the way, for trying to defend you.

ROFL!
you really don't know much about show business, do you?

^Amen to that.
"Patti's...singing makes me gag."
Well, you just lost any credibility with me.
"Best Male Performer:
Winner: Bob Martin
Nominations: Adam Pascal, Norbert Leo Butz, Gavin Lee"
Of ALL-TIME?
I have to beg that if this post is to continue and people post their lists-that everyone include the show for which they are nominating the actor. That way I will know that someone isn't nominating Julie Andrews for Victor/Victoria instead of My Fair Lady!
Believe me, I've been on this board for almost three years. I've seen at least 10 bitchy comments a day...but that doesn't mean that people deserve them.
And since when is posting online with your fellow theater-goers the equivalent of show business?

Can everyone stop pissing and moaning about the snarkiness that exists on this board?
I'm honestly more tired of reading whiny posts responding to criticism than reading the b*tchy posts. At least they're entertaining instead of self-righteous.
Seriously, take your own advice and start ignoring those posts if it really bothers you.
"Patti's...singing makes me gag."

I thought the same exact thing.
And since when is posting online with your fellow theater-goers the equivalent of show business?
Haha.
Can everyone stop pissing and moaning about the snarkiness that exists on this board?
Ok, I've said it so many times on this board but I will say it again.
If you want people to stop "pissing and moaning" then STOP BEING BITCHY. It's that simple. I don't understand how being rude and completely mean and bitchy for no reason to someone is "entertaining" to you. It's turning people off from this board. It's a great board and I love it dearly but the bitchiness is not needed at all. And I've been ignoring bitchy posts for almost a year and a half...this is the first time I defended someone for something like this in a long time. And definitely the longest, most thought-out response I have ever posted.
Seriously, it shouldn't be that complicated to hold back from being bitchy and snarky. I just don't get what the problem is...
I heart people. You all make me laugh. Here are my answer's. I don't care if anyone else likes them. That's why they are my opinions.
