Sad to see this go as I had such a hilariously fun time - and it was a perfect show to recommend to Broadway neophytes or someone who just needed a good belly laugh - but it has definitely run its course.
I saw this in previews and it ran like a well-oiled machine and did come very close to peeing my pants. This was very well-done farce and I'm happy it had such a decent run
Sad to see it go. I agree that it was a good show to recommend to anyone in need of a show slot to fill.
Have they recouped? It's pretty low-budget show, but their margins were not great.
No surprise. Hopefully it can hang on through the closing date. Odds are whatever is taking the Lyceum in the Fall is wants to make an announcement soon.
I fully expect a tour announcement soon.

It was announced last November.

Happy that we'll be getting something new at the Lyceum.
The show had a healthy run.
I had a feeling this was coming. Hold on through summer. Take a break, and then re purpose everything for the tour.

Sad to see it go but glad I got to see it. Just straight up hilarious. Hope I can catch it again before it goes.
It was nice to see a long-running play, instead of the come-and-go star vehicles.
This is the first big show of our Broadway in Pittsburgh 2018/2019 season playing Sept. 18-23. Looking forward to seeing it! :)

It had a great run - had a chance to see the original cast. Let's hope this paves the way for more farces and giving shows a chance. Awards don't hurt either! HA AH AHA This play had an amazing marketing campaign which is also a reason for it's success!!

It will be touring in Toronto for the 2018/19 Mirvish season. Looking forward to it as I couldn’t squeeze it into my recent Broadway binge trip.

Those should have put the wrong closing date to keep up the 'things that go wrong' theme
Excited to see this in Toronto, I watched the BBC version of Peter Pan Goes Wrong and laughed until my ribs hurt.
This was one of the funniest shows I've ever seen on the stage. I truly don't understand how some didn't find this anything other than roaringly hilarious. I'll be recommending the tour to everybody.

Really good show. I hear it is close to recouping. Yes, the weekly running expenses were incredibly low. They made some profit almost every week.
Was hoping this might go off-Broadway. But guess makes more sense to use everything for the tour. Curious how they'll stage it with the stage manager bits in the house in the bigger venues.

For what it worth, I am sure that they have all that figured out by now. Keep in mind, aside from still going strong in the West End, it's also in the middle of a UK tour as well.
Update: now closing in January 2019!

It was capitalized at $4.25 million, according to documents filed with the Securities Exchange Commission. In November, producer Kevin McCollum told Broadway News the play was more than 50% recouped and was making distributions as it ran.
Since the closing announcement, the show has seen a small uptick in grosses and attendance, however it has not been reaching its full gross potential. Last week “The Play That Goes Wrong” brought in 53% of its gross potential, reaching 81% capacity across the week.
