"but I promise you it will kick the living ass of the original recording."
How exciting, but I am loving and hating you at the same time - its making it unbareable to have to wait
Priest, how old is your sister?

Thanks for the update Anthony. Sounds like you guys are having a great time in San Francisco. It's such a great city, hope you are getting at least some off time to explore. And you're coming to LA for a couple weeks? For actual filming or just promotional purposes? Either way, awsome! Can't wait to hear the new cast recording. Sounds like it's going to kick the **** out of the old one, and that's saying something since the original recording kicks some serious ass. Are the costumes/hairstyles/make up etc similar to those of the stage show or are they completely original and new? Looking foward to seeing how it all comes together. Anyways, glad to see your doing well after what seems like an extremely busy couple of weeks.

"Anyone want to be there with me with a box of tissues at the ready?" I know, I cry just listening to the CD during I'll Cover You Reprise and Goodbye Love, which I've listened to, what, a million times? I have mixed feelings about anything being classified as BETTER than the RENT OBCR, but I'm glad it will kick ass... okay have a nice day everyone!
"Kali, why is Roger on a cliff?"
"Because the cliff is love, Rachel."
"Oh."
"Anyone want to be there with me with a box of tissues at the ready?" Yeah I'll join you iheartmark! The first time I heard those songs, I was sitting in class and was already kind of having a down day. I was biting the inside of my lip by the end to keep myself from causing some kind of public scene and people kept asking me why my eyes looked all red after class. :-P And now, almost a year later it still does that to me.
Well considering this new recording is still going to have the OBC on it (apart from Tracie and Rosario) I'm leaving the idea of it being better then the original recording open til I hear it. That and weren't alot of the instrumentals softened for the original OBC recording? I think it'll sound more powerful (if thats possible) with the added instrumentals. Is the recording coming out around the same time as the movie or before?

I've been showing everyone all of your updates from the Rent set, and if my friends and my level of excitement for this movie is any reflection of the American public then ur gonna have a huge hit on ur hands!
It makes me really happy to hear what u have been saying about the movie soundtrack recording! Now I'll have something else to jam to in my car!!!! (since my OBC recording is sadly beginning to skip from overplay!) lol
Anyways, I hope the shoot continues to go well. If u have time to get around to the questions, I look forward to hearing ur responses. Thanks again! Majorly cool that ur continuing to post here! Later, Jason

Thanks for the update, Anthony! Man, it sounds like the film is gonna kick some serious ass (I hear Oscar calling...)
BTW - aside from my previous post about how my wife and I felt about Rent when we lived in NYC, I just wanted to say that I think it is VERY cool that someone in your position takes time to talk to fans like this. You obviously don't have to do it, and I'm sure I speak for everyone else on this board when I say we all appreciate it VERY much.
Finally, a question (yeah, like you don't have enough piled up already...)
Is there any plan to push any songs from the movie for radio airplay? It seems to me that there are several songs (What You Own, Out Tonight, Seasons of Love, One Song Glory, to name a few) that just BEG to played on "mainstream" radio. Hell, pretty much everything on the original cast recording is better than most of the crap that passes for radio music these days...
Anyway - if you don't get to my question - don't sweat it. I look forward to reading your posts in the future!
Hello rice and beans AND cheese! ^_^ Venturing off the RENT thread I see. Welcome.
Got a question about the recording....since some of the songs have been turned into dialogue (Happy New Year etc) does that mean it won't be part of the new recording? Or will all the songs from the show be there, despite the fact that some won't be in the actual movie. Thanks! Hope everyone had a good day. -Mika

Okay, back to your regularly scheduled thread. Oh, and Hi, Anthony. Lovin' the updates; getting more anxious with every passing week.
