Anthony,
Any thoughts on living at the end of the millenium with your cell phones, AZT, and Thelma & Louise in 1985? Maybe this date was a rumor or an early draft or something, but just curious:)!

Also, I'm VERY happy you don't smoke... I find it a disgusting habit, especially in singers. YAY ANTHONY!

Hi Everyone!
I come on here frequently to check out what's going on with the movie. I LOVE hearing Anthony's updates and think it's so great of him to post! I am a HUGE Rent fan and can't wait for this movie to come out.
I went to the set today- Anthony I saw you walking down the street once and wanted to come meet you, but you looked busy. I figured I would see you later, but then I found out it was a closed set.
I did hear some of the filming of "What You Own" and it sounded great!
I was so disappointed that they were filming in a private area. Hopefully I will have another chance to meet everyone another time and maybe watch them film- I've never been to a movie set and have always dreamed of it, but seeing the trailer and some equipment today was totally awesome!!
Anyway- Thanks Anthony for keeping us updated!! Hopefully I can meet you some other time

Unfortunately I live too far away to be able to go to either San Francisco or New York City... but all of us here are counting down the days till the movie comes out. {Yankeefan}. I hope you guys are having a good time on the set... is this the first time you have seen each other in a while? With {almost} everybody from the original cast? Have you seen Daphne... has she visited the set?
Have a great time... we're all waiting excited to death!

Anthony, I don't have any questions for you yet but I'm sure they will soon start flowing like crazy. Wow, I am currently listening to the OBCR (“Rent” actually) ahhh you’re amazing! Sorry I just had to say it!! I can not express how wonderful I think it is for you to be keeping us posted on how everything is going. Like everyone else (I'm sure) I am eagerly awaiting the movie, but I am concerned about how it will turn out, but you have put tons of my fears to rest. I truly thank you for that.

One little question has been lurking in the back of my head. (I don't know if this would be a movie spoiler, so if you don't want to answer it, go ahead.)
Will we finally be able to behold all of MRS. Benjamin Coffin III?

I've been a lurker on this thread for some time now, and I just felt the need to tell you how great I think it is that you take the time to give us updates about what's going on with the filming of the movie and answering everyone's questions. You are a very kind, generous person. Thank you for giving us fans a behind the scenes perspective of the RENT film.
I also loved your subject, Anthony. "smoke this" :)
I also felt the need to address some of the issues regarding the movie being set in the 80s. I read somewhere that Jonathon Larson had written RENT from 1985-1995. So, RENT is actually a combination of the late 80s and the early 90s. I read that Julie Larson had said that Jonathon had intended for RENT to be set between the years 1987 and 1989.
I had also read that the East Village bohemian artist scene died down after 1989. Also, I believe that AZT first came out in the late 80s. And as for "the end of the millenium" thing, there are 1,000 years in a millenium. 1985 is just 15 years before the millenium ended. I think that's pretty close to the end. As I said, I believe I have read these things, but I've been reading so many RENT related articles in the past few days that some of these things may be incorrect or I may have interpreted them incorrectly. Has anyone else heard these types of things regarding year in which the movie is set?

and for the sudden controversy (using that word lightly) issues on the forum: Anthony has promised and shared his concerns that this movie is going to be made not only the way we (the fans, and the OBC) wanna see it, and the way Jonathan and his family would wanna see it. But in the end...whether the movie is 100% accurate with every little detail..RENTheads are still going to fill up theatres across the nation and jaws are going to drop in absolute joy and satisfaction. my opinions.
