i heard something about a Legally Blonde musical, that would rock, i agree on The Breakfast Club, i think that would make a great show. i think The Ghost of Mrs. Muir would make a great musical
Borstalboy, what a fabulous idea. I LOVE BEN FOLDS and his music would be amazing if adapted to Broadway. We already know he can tell a good story through his lyrics with songs like "Brick" and "The Luckiest."
Has SINGIN' IN THE RAIN been attempted as a stage musical?
How about Hugh Jackman in the Gene Kelly role, Renee Zelwegger in the Debbie Reynolds role and Nicole Kidman in the Jean Hagen role. Can't think yet of who might fit in the Donald O'Connor role....LOL - sounds like a movie remake...but they could all work in the theatre if the project is interesting enough!
NEWSIES NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS (GOOD ONE EVERYONE)
"[My son]'s really into my music, but one day we were listening to Billy [Joel] in the car and he said, 'Daddy, I think Billy's songs are a little better than yours." (Michael Cavanaugh)
Down with Love. I just watched it, and it IS a musical... except they don't sing. but the entrance music, costumes, staging... EVERYTHING IT SCREAMS TURN ME INTO A BROADWAY SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH MAN!
Nighmare Before Christmas! Part of the magic for me in that movie are that the people are so unreal. Jack is way too skinny and I love the way he bends and twists. You can't do that in real life. I absoluty LOVE the movie, but I'm not so sure about it on the stage. Oh, but wouldn't the music be great live? That would be really something.
Showgirls is a fabulous idea! And I would have said "The Spitfire Grill" but its already been done wonderfully - did anyone see it? I can't imagine why it closed - it was a beautiful show based on a beautiful film. I'd also like to see something dark like "The Haunting" musicalized - Sondheim would have a heyday with that one!
"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!"
Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!
My Father the Hero, ( has contained space, interesting charachters, VERY interesting premise) I imagine it with a very comedic bouncy score. Something between " Lucky Stiff", "My favorite year" and " Amour" a comedy but not producers style.something with wit.
The Witches Of Eastwick (I know about the London production, but something different, not as flashy) I'd cast Idina Menzel (Cher), Sutton Foster (Pheiffer), Jennifer Westfeldt (Sarandon) and Hugh Jackman (Nicholson). Boy what a night at the theater that would be.
"Sing the words, Patti!!!!" Stephen Sondheim to Patti LuPone.
