i heard something about a Legally Blonde musical, that would rock, i agree on The Breakfast Club, i think that would make a great show. i think The Ghost of Mrs. Muir would make a great musical
Borstalboy, what a fabulous idea. I LOVE BEN FOLDS and his music would be amazing if adapted to Broadway. We already know he can tell a good story through his lyrics with songs like "Brick" and "The Luckiest."
They def need to make anastasia into a musical! I would pay mucho to see that done well!

Moonstruck HAS been made into a musical, I believe they did a reading of it with Idina as Loretta Castorini.
I myself would like to see O Brother Where Art Thou get musicalized.

Has SINGIN' IN THE RAIN been attempted as a stage musical?
How about Hugh Jackman in the Gene Kelly role, Renee Zelwegger in the Debbie Reynolds role and Nicole Kidman in the Jean Hagen role. Can't think yet of who might fit in the Donald O'Connor role....LOL - sounds like a movie remake...but they could all work in the theatre if the project is interesting enough!

I would like to see Rent done as a musical, instead of just a concert with occasional plot.

PSYCHO
Most definitely. It has:
Illicit Sex (the opening scene in a hotel room in mid-afternoon between Sam Loomis, a married man and his girl friend, Marion)
Nudity (the shower scene)
Men in drag (Norman as Mrs. Bates)
Necrophilia (well, you know)
Intense self awareness (I paraphrase, "They expect me to swat that fly. But I'm not. I wouldn't hurt a fly.")
All the things musicals are supposed to have to make them edgey and relevant to today's contemporary theatre goers.
Just think of the musical possibilities:
"Marion, Oh Marion"
"Forty Thousand Dollars"
"Bates Motel--Cabin One," medley
"Mother and Me"
"The Shower"
"Mother, You Didn't"
"Cleaning Up After Mother"
"Lila, I Never Knew"
"Don't Go In the Basement"
"Mother"
"Mother and Me," reprise"
Whaddya think?

Crossroads starrin Brittney Spears! that would be funny!
Down with Love. I just watched it, and it IS a musical... except they don't sing. but the entrance music, costumes, staging... EVERYTHING IT SCREAMS TURN ME INTO A BROADWAY SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH MAN!
I'll be curious to see how "Shrek:The Musical" translate to stage. I just can't see it.
I remember when I first saw Moulin Rouge that I felt like I was watching a Broadway show.
Legally Blonde would be a cute musical.
Nighmare Before Christmas! Part of the magic for me in that movie are that the people are so unreal. Jack is way too skinny and I love the way he bends and twists. You can't do that in real life. I absoluty LOVE the movie, but I'm not so sure about it on the stage. Oh, but wouldn't the music be great live? That would be really something.
SHOWGIRLS!!!
Bridget Jones Diary
Showgirls is a fabulous idea! And I would have said "The Spitfire Grill" but its already been done wonderfully - did anyone see it? I can't imagine why it closed - it was a beautiful show based on a beautiful film. I'd also like to see something dark like "The Haunting" musicalized - Sondheim would have a heyday with that one!
My Father the Hero, ( has contained space, interesting charachters, VERY interesting premise) I imagine it with a very comedic bouncy score. Something between " Lucky Stiff", "My favorite year" and " Amour"
a comedy but not producers style.something with wit.
how about All Over The Guy... or Trick!!!
The Witches Of Eastwick (I know about the London production, but something different, not as flashy) I'd cast Idina Menzel (Cher), Sutton Foster (Pheiffer), Jennifer Westfeldt (Sarandon) and Hugh Jackman (Nicholson). Boy what a night at the theater that would be.
