On ET, Matthew Belloni from Hollywood Reporter spoke about it. He happens to think that The Lion King, Oklahoma, or Pippin could be the next one.

Ok, I'm going to put this out there and the Shani Wallis Fan Club will strike it down.
But if Oliver is done, I wish they would consider Crystal Bowersox as Nancy.
Reba in Hello, Dolly! Benanti as Irene. Boyd Gaines as Horace.
I love the Jack Black in FORUM idea, as well as PETER PAN and THE KING AND I. CRAZY FOR YOU would be a great choice for this treatment. I think THE WIZ has the most potential for star power. I also think, if we're getting big stars, Katy Perry would make a great Nancy in OLIVER. Get Gerard Butler to be Bill Sykes.
I'd love Megan Hilty in BOMBSHELL filmed lived from an actual Broadway stage, and a live episode of "Glee" has potential, especially with FUNNY GIRL.

At least this teaches Meron and Zadan not to hire Rob Ashford again. And I guess Miss Saigon is too dark as well.
Hugh Jackman as Fagin
Lady Gaga as Nancy
Collin Farrell as Bill Sykes
I vote Adele for Nancy!!!
For Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, I want Megan Hilty as Loreli and Katy Perry as Dorothy. That would bring me happiness.
I saw hilty in blondes at CC. She was AMAZING
Guys and Dolls
Will Smith as Sky
Harry Connick as Nathan
Taylor Swift as Sister Sarah
I vote Adele for Nancy!!!
Yes, yes, and yes.
A much better choice. With Jackman and Collin Farrell. And a ton of kids. And the ratings would be huge.
Singin' in the Rain would work wonderfully.
I know it's been done before but I vote for OKLAHOMA! with...
Blake Shelton as Curly
Anne Hathaway as Laurey
James Barbour as Jud
Beth Level as Aunt Eller
Megan Hilty as Ado Annie
Santino Fontana as Will
Jesse L. Martin as Ali Hakim

I watched the NT OKLAHOMA with Hugh Jackman on public TV a few weeks back. It may be a classic but I was bored to tears. I don't see that pulling ratings, no matter how they cast it.

CAMELOT starring Vince Gill and Loretta Swit.
How about "Meet me in St. Louis"? Family friendly, great Christmas song, and it's about the World's Fair in 1904 which would be the 110th anniversary.
well both my folks thought SOM Lived didn't live up to the movie. But my mom loved Laura Benanti and Audra McDonald.
and I think it would be a lot better to do a live television production of a musical that doesn't have a well-known film version.

"and I think it would be a lot better to do a live television production of a musical that doesn't have a well-known film version."
See, I'm not sure if I'd agree with this or not. It's hard because people are quick to make comparisons, but at the same time I think the title needs to be very recognizable to draw an audience. And it seems like most large name musicals have well-known films.
When you think of Oklahoma! what version do you think of? The film version of the NT revival?
And answer truthfully...

But I also would love....
FUNNY GIRL with Lady Gaga as Fanny Brice
MY FAIR LADY with Hugh Laurie and Emmy Rossum as Higgins and Eliza
FIDDLER with Robin Williams as Tevye
OLIVER! with Adele as Nancy
HELLO DOLLY with Reba
MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS with Kelly Clarkson as Esther Smith
Okay, Robin Williams as Tevye SHOULD be wrong, but it honestly seems like the rightest thing in the world. Pair him with a great, equally high-profile Golde and you've got ratings gold.
Throw in Andrea Martin as the matchmaker and Mandy Patinkin as Lazar Wolf, with a few Broadway/TV crossover performers as the character roles, and you're set!

I honestly do think of the film version first. That was the version I saw first and most, so it's what is in my mind when I think of Oklahoma!

They'll probably just do Cinderella because it's a safe choice.
Fiddler--
I see Josh Groban as Motel the Tailor.
