Do we know of any Shubert produced shows circling this theater now that it will be free in the fall?

"Shubert produced" has nothing to do with what gets a Shubert theater.

Is Almost Famous all but announced for the Barrymore, or could it move to the Jacobs, considering Paradise Square hasn't even announced its closing? They're almost exactly the same size, and 7/31 would give them 6 weeks before the first preview.

There are at least 6 Shubert "playhouses" without announced tenants for the fall/winter. No doubt a majority of them will have a show playing in them. Any play or moderate-sized musical could play in any of these.
Barrymore, Belasco, Jacobs, Jones, Music Box, Schoenfeld
There's also the Broadway (after one week of Weezer in Sept) and the Imperial for large-scale musicals. And anything else that surprises us with a closing announcement.

YES. GARTH IS REFUSING TO POST. EVEN THOUGH HE IS BLEEDING HIS INVESTORS DRY. AND THE SHOW IS NOT GOING TO TURN AROUND.
I SMELL A COURT CASE ABOUT HIS CONDUCT ON THIS SHOW.

So, Paradise Square has to vacate by July 31st and Garth Drabinsky won't post a closing notice? Does it really matter? The cast and crew surely know.

Doesn't necessarily mean anything. Most open runs sell past their eventual closing date, before that closing date is officially announced. If anyone buys a ticket to a performance after their closing date, they'll just be refunded.

I love this for us (assuming it all pans out)
Unfortunately I doubt Ain't No Mo would sell very well, but it's a strong piece, and it deserves a larger audience if it can get it. It's not my money going into the show, so I'll be delighted if/when it transfers. troynow, do you know if Stevie Walker-Webb is staying on as director, or if it's a new production (a la Thanksgiving Play)?
I know Life of Pi got mixed reviews, but damn I'd be really excited to see it anyway!
I assume Jeffery Richards booked the Jones for one of his productions, but is keeping a tight lid on what the show actually is? Well, anyway I think Richards has pretty good taste, so I'm down for that.

If Almost Famous has moved its booking to the Jacobs, Paradise Square doesn't have to close/move for now.
Telecharge has taken front mezzanine row E off sale for Almost Famous, which tracks with Troy's new info, since the front mezzanine at the Jacobs only goes to row D. I'm glad, since I bought a seat in row D, and I prefer the mezzanine at the Jacobs.

James Earl Jones. The Cort.

Again, I think this sort of misses the point. Paradise Square's longevity wouldn't be dependent on whether Almost Famous (or another show) books the theatre after them. I think it's sort of the reverse; the reason the theatre is available for booking in the first place is because Paradise Square is destined to close in the coming months.

I just mean that Paradise Square now has no definite date to give up the Barrymore, as long as its backers wish to continue putting $$$ in to it.

My guess is that the Jeffrey Richards show is a transfer of the Steppenwolf production of Bug.

I'm not doubting your info, but just curious- Is there a Sweeney revival coming I somehow missed hearing about? (I assume its not the environmental Off-Broadway one from a few years back as that wouldn't really work in a theatre as big as the Lunt).

THIS IS MY GUESS TOO
I should have asked David Cromer about this when I met him earlier this month

Same here. As much as I love James Earl Jones, he doesn't have the best last name for a theatre. "Earl Jones" sounds more distinctive, and that's what I'm going to call it when abbreviated, just for clarity.
I say we still nickname it either The Vader or The Mufasa.

Is that a "star vehicle?" Because the next tenant at the Schoenfeld is going to be a star vehicle.
