I know on the boards its a totally different story, but my friend thinks I'm crazy for not totally loving Spamalot.
I liked Brooklyn, unlike some people.
And the other thing about the Phantom Lady was, Bert, she realized, in the city that never sleeps...
What did she realize, Kitten?
That all the songs she'd listened to, all the love songs, that they were only songs.
What's wrong with that?
Nothing, if you don't believe in them. But she did, you see. She believed in enchanted evenings, and she believed that a small cloud passed overhead and cried down on a flower bed, and she even believed there was breakfast to be had...
Where?
On Pluto. The mysterious, icy wastes of Pluto.
*hides behind a desk* Don't kill me, but I hated Cats...just hated it.
1. Ted Allen: Everyone has an interesting life if you ask the right questions.
2. Great buckets of Spoffnor, they're going to sing!
3. "I love shrubs that are historical." -Johnny and The Sprites
4. "We're not singing it to you, we're singing it for us." -Rosario Dawson, about La Vie Boheme
5. "The best moments in reading are when you come across something - a thought, a feeling, a way of looking at things - which you had thought special and particular to you. And now, here it is, set down by someone else, a person you have never met, someone even who is long dead. And it is as if a hand has come out, and taken yours." -The History Boys
6. "Pass the parcel. That's sometimes all you can do. Take it, feel it and pass it on. Not for me, not for you, but for someone, somewhere, one day. Pass it on, boys. That's the game I want you to learn. Pass it on." -The History Boys
I'm ... I'm not the only one who dislikes Hairspray? I loved the movie, but for some reason I just can't get into the musical.
... and I know I'll be dragged through the village and beaten for this, but... Camelot.
I'm a sick child.
Edit: And I just remembered: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. I should probably add that I haven't seen any of these shows, and these opinions are based purely on the cast recordings.

(Martha Graham from a letter to Agnes de Mille) "There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening That is translated through you into action, And because there is only one of you in all time, This expression is unique. If you block it, It will never exist through any other medium And be lost. The world will never have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, Nor how valuable it is, Nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours, clearly and directly, To keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep open and aware Directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open. No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer, divine dissatisfaction, A blessed unrest that keeps us marching And makes us more alive than others."
Shows that I hate: Jekyll and Hyde Cats Aida (walked out at intermission) Scarlet Pimpernel (walked out at intermission) Redhead
Shows I like which nobody else seems to like: Passion Aspects of Love By Jeeves Dear World Milk and Honey
"It does what a musical is supposed to do; it takes you to another world. And it gives you a little tune to carry in your head. Something to take you away from the dreary horrors of the real world. A little something for when you're feeling blue. You know?"
BoadwayBaby6, Steven Susskind told me that REDHEAD was his pick as the worst musical to win the Best Musical Tony, so you're not alone...although this was before THOROUGHLY MODERN MLLIE came out...
And I LOVE PASSION, ASPECTS OF LOVE and MILK AND HONEY! I also liked PIPE DREAM, SUBWAYS ARE FOR SLEEPING, and TENDERLOIN, so what do I know?
Praying Decca Broadway will put "Don't Bother Me, I Can't Cope" on CD!
Oh yeah, Sound of Music...it's getting a little annoying to me now..used to love it, now I've just seen it too many times to like it I guess.
