*Read an English translation of Victor Hugo's monumental work ( maybe a thousand pages or so)
*Struggled through 2 years of lessons at Alliance Francaise - at least I learned how to pronounce French words
*Only thing I didn't do -- go to an offered tour of the Parisian underground sewers to trace the footsteps of Valjean and Marius -- that would have been too much - LOL!
