Somethings Are Meant to Be- Little Women. *Meg dies* Last Midnight and Moments- Into The Woods You Must Love Me- Evita Not A Sound- Brooklyn (right after Faith killed herself.)
Though it's somewhat funny, I love "Tell Her I Love Her" from Urinetown. It's such a fantastically quiet yet meaningful song, and has such a somber tone to it. Love it!
Fallen Angel-Jersey Boys(It's such a beautiful moment, I always feel like I'm about to cry) Somewhere That's Green(reprise)-LSOH Love Don't Need A Reason-The Boy From Oz I Honestly Love You-The Boy From Oz Quiet Please, There's A Lady On Stage-The Boy From Oz Don't Cry Out Loud-The Boy From Oz(don't know if it counts being that it's after the father shoots himself) ________________________________________________________________"Buy Me Out? Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be enbered with your old nonsense. ~ Emerson
"Bare"/"Absolution" from Bare (probably the saddest songs ever) "Any Momement" from Into the Woods "How Glory Goes" from Floyd Collins "Somewhere/Finale" from West Side Story "I Honestly Love You" from The Boy from Oz "Will I?" in the Rent film "Without You" in the Rent film
Most Les Miz "Death" Songs. And the Godspell finale. That show is so close in my heart. Was anyone ever in that show the last night and bawled during Jesus's death? If so, PM me.
I like Charlie Brown's hands...
"It's like I'm being tied to the hood of a yellow rental truck, being packed in with fertilizer and fuel oil, pushed over a cliff by a suicidal Mickey Mouse."
Javert's Suicide- Les Mis Impossible Dream/I Don Quixote (reprise)- Man of La Mancha Why Did I listen to that Man?- Urinetown (Although I guess it has to be that in addition to Tell Her I Love Her, because Bobby takes a while to die...) Sacred Bird- Miss Saigon Finale- Sweeney Todd (where everyone dies!!!) The Ballad of Booth- Assassins (Lincoln dies) Til We Reach That Day- Ragtime Now (It's Just the Gas)- LSOH Finale- WSS
I don't know if it really counts, but "You've Got to be Taught" in South Pacific comes right before Lt. Cable dies, and I really do love that song...
"Writing should be easy, like a monkey driving a speedboat..." -[title of show]
"I'm tired of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're going and meet up with them later." -Mitch Hedberg

Until a few months ago, I would have said, "A Little Fall Of Rain" in a heartbeat. But then a 16-year-old friend of mine died as the result of a middle-aged man's irresponsibility in driving drunk. "There Is A Fountain/It Don't Make Sense" from Parade perfectly captures the myriad of feeling that ran through me when he died and still run through me whenever I think about him. Friends, Family Remember Wreck Victim
In "Thoroughly Modern Millie" during "Forget About The Boy" when an overstimulated Millie tap dances herself right into the orchestra pit and dies.
Sorry. I just hated that show and am feeling a bit punchy today.
The real answer for me is when Jesus dies on the cross during "Godspell" and the crowd sings "Go With God" (I think) and then the song turns into "Prepare Ye The Way Of The Lord" -- great scene.

-Michael Cerveris
Elaborate Lives Reprise from AIDA. That was the most gorgeous song in the whole show and perfect for that moment.
I also liked
Impossible Dream Reprise from MAN OF LA MANCHA and No One Morns the Wicked Reprise from WICKED. It has this touch of irony that is not funny at all but ties the show together and adds a bit of sadness.
Pretty is what changes. What the eye arranges is what is beautiful.
