Do bare chests and butts still count as nudity?

I don't think so, and so the above list does seem rather inhibited.

You guys may still do musicals better than us but I think the Brits are better at getting their kit off.

I've actually seen a production of Rocky Horror with a LOT of nudity.

Aren't Samantha Mathis (and Colin Hanks) topless in a scene?

I guess so, but I didn't really count that because you can't see anything. Colin Hanks removes Samantha Mathis's shirt in the dark and you only see her back. She might have even been wearing a bodysuit, it was too dark to tell.

And topless men don't count as nudity.

GREEN WILLOW: The scene with the little boy had him run on stage during a group number and Anthony Perkins picked him up. It was a very brief thing.

How about the waiters with the bare butts in APPLAUSE during the title numbrer.

And how could I have forgotten Jude Law in Translations? There was nothing left to the imagination there. When Law was on Actors Studio, he recounted a story where some prankster had filled the bathtub with very cold water -- as he told it, the audience had a very small view of him that day.

Wait, it was a little boy in Green WIllow? Thats sorta really creepy, especially considering some of the people who go to see shows. How was that allowed?

Yes, I stand corrected on that one. Indiscretions it was. Guess my heart was pounding so furiously at the remembrance of it that I lost it.

um papalovesmambo, what if we arent in to having sex with black guys - that ruins your whole "come see wicked and f*** a monkey" concept, doesnt it?

how about "come see little mermaid and screw a wetback"?

I'm not getting Greenwillow. How is it legal to have a child named in anything other than a diaper commercial?

"Some of the people who go to see shows"? It's only that one actor. You know, "He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named-Or-Else-You'll-Get-Banned"? Maybe we should just refer to him as Voldemort.

from what i understand if you are under the age of 18 nudity is only allowed if it's considered "art" and is not overtly sexual. i think those are the guidelines, but i could be wrong.

Not on Broadway but my play Porno Chic that's won some awards here in the U.K and will be heading Off Broadway next year has quite a bit of topless nudity for some female characters and full frontal nudity for male lead.
