Cincinnati:
Dirty Dancing - 9/23-10/05
Once - 11/11-11/23
Elf - Season Extra - 12/2-12/7
Cinderella - 1/6-1/18
Anything Goes - Season Extra - 2/17-2/22
The Lion King - 3/31-4/26
I Love Lucy - 6/2-6/14

Does anyone have inside information on how cities within BAA select the shows to present? I have to believe it all comes down to money. Cincinnati used to be a first run city when it came to national tours but now it seems as if, well, we are not. I am very curious if anyone has any insight.

The Sister Act tour is staying equity.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

It all depends on how big of a bid the local presenters made and where the city falls in on the route. When the Book of Mormon played Portland last year the show was already playing the west coast so a Portland engagement was possible. However, the producers of Mormon would only accept an offer of a week long engagement, so our local presenters opted instead of waiting another season for a longer run.

Seattle's "Broadway at the Paramount" has just announced their upcoming season.

"Beauty and the Beast" 10/21/14-10/26/14 (Season Option)
"How the Grinch Stole Christmas" 12/2/14-12/7/14
"Dirty Dancing" 1/20/15-2/1/15
"Cinderella" 2/24/15-3/1/15
"Phantom of the Opera" 4/30/18-5/10/15
"Wicked" 7/8/15-8/2/15 (Season Option)
"Pippin" 8/18/15-8/23/15

Nothing too terribly exciting for them.

The 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle also has yet to announce their full season, but they have announced that "Kinky Boots" will be coming in April. They usually have only two or three touring shows (due to producing thier own in-house shows, and also trying out shows for Broadway), but I'm hoping that "Newsies" gets announced for the 5th also.

I heard that the "Cinderella" tour will originate at the Providence Performing Arts Center in the fall.

I can't believe Beauty and the Beast is still touring.

What a horrible season in Seattle. I have no interest in any of those shows except for Pippin. Wicked is wonderful, but has been here twice in the past few years. I've been a premier season ticket holder for six years, but with prices going up, special events disappearing, and a season like this one, I think this might be it for me. I sure hope that the 5th has a better season.

Usually Portland, Or has a similar season to Seattle, but I imagine Kinky Boots will be in our line up.

Hannahbelle, I know what you mean by the Seattle disappointment, but unfortunately, it doesn't seem like there is too many National tours of note that are coming through anywhere in the country. I did see in one of the e-mails I got that the Paramount is going to announce one more "Broadway Show" in the next couple of weeks as another bonus add on show. I'm starting to think that "Newsies" might show up at the Paramount now, as they usually put on "Disney" themed shows. Unfortunately, that doesn't leave much to the 5th.

And fortunately, in Seattle, there's a plethora of smaller venues and companies that are producing musicals, and many of them are off the beaten path and surprisingly good. This past season, I really enjoyed StageRight's "Floyd Collins", Balagan's "Carrie" and "Jerry Springer: The Opera", and most things produced by The Village Theatre in Issaquah/Everet. Those usually get me through some of the "leaner" touring seasons.

Awesome. Hope Ahmanson/CTGLA gets Matilda. So now they are likely to have:

Looks like Matilda will get two months at the Ahmanson before it heads to SF in July. Obviously it's on to Seattle at 5th Avenue after that.

Yay Matilda! Really happy this is happening. I hope it sells well! Also before it goes to LA it's going to do tech and preview performances in New Haven, CT! I may actually go to that but we'll see :)

Man, San Diego has a great season. Happy for the people out there! Does anybody know when either Providence, RI or Hartford, CT announce their seasons? And for anyone wondering Broadway in Boston announces theirs in March.

Hmm… I'm not excited that Heartbeat of Home is part of the regular season versus an add-on. Ahmanson could have used one more musical.
