Fantine's life in Les Miz. Every scene it feels like your heart is being torn out.

IAMmyownMUSICAL mentioned a bunch of them, but also for me

"Two Ships in the Night" / "Boote in der Nacht" from the Kunze musical Elisabeth, which is in German but the song (a duet) has been done in English!

I think I'll go with the moment right before "I Am the One" in Next to Normal. That's what ultimately brought tears to my eyes during the show.

"I don't want the pretty lights to come and get me."-Homecoming 2005 "You can't pray away the gay."-Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy. Ignored Users: suestorm, N2N Nate., Owen22, master bates

The moments right after "Another Winter in a Summer Town" in Grey Gardens. Devastating.

Two songs that bring out the tears are "Children and Art" from Sunday in the Park with George, and "Inside Your Heart" -- in particular, the couplet "I will shield you from harm/come spend your life on my arm" -- from Bat Boy

Absolutely the end of Grey Gardens. That was just the most depressing ending I've ever seen.

And, on occasion, A Little Fall of Rain from Les Mis can make me cry a little.

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

Agree with all the Les Miz comments. I cry driving in my car when "Bring Him Home" comes on.

Two moments in "Wicked": When Elphie sings "I'm Not That Girl". I was a wallflower, so this song speaks to me! And in "For Good" the line, "So much of me is made of what I learned from you. You'll be with me, like a handprint on my heart".

-The final lair scene in The Phantom of the Opera.

-Les Mis, during Lovely Ladies when Fantine sings "Monsieur don't mock me now I pray. It's hard enough I've lost my pride. You let your foremen send me away. Yes you were there and turned aside."

"Too Many Mornings" Especially:

SALLY:
If you don't kiss me, Ben, I think I'm going to die.
How I planned:
What I'd wear tonight and
When should I get here,
How should I find you,
Where I'd stand,
What I'd say in case you didn't remember.
How I'd remind you--
You remembered.
And my fears were wrong!
Was it ever real?
Did I ever love you this much?
Did we ever feel
So happy then?

When Spider-Man falls in the pit in "Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark". It was so sad, it was only in one performance.

I don't know if this counts, because I haven't actually seen it, but I recently bought the cast recording of Ordinary Days and Lisa Brescia's performance of "I'll Be Here" brings me to tears, without fail, every time I listen to it.
