Kendrick, next in “The Twilight Saga : Breaking Dawn Part 2? (the ticket sales of which will likely make up for the poor performance of “Pitch Perfect”
Yeah, of course, totally.
Except for the fact that she is not in this Twilight movie this go-around.
And I'd watch Pitch Perfect any day over Twilight.
I loved PITCH PERFECT. And I have no idea how or why this author is calling it's box office performance "poor." It's already made $46,000,000 from a $17,000,000 budget. Sure, it's no blockbuster phenomenon, but it's definitely not a flop.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I don't really see how this could possibly make a film. The whole point is that they're never interacting and each of them are living the relationship the opposite way. Seems like it would confuse the average movie-goer.
LOVE the choice of Anna Kendrick though.
"Pardon my prior Mcfee slip. I know how to spell her name. I just don't know how to type it." -Talulah
Three personal reactions: 1. I would LOVE to see a movie version of TL5Y 2. The article read as if it was written by a ten year old. 3. I have absolutely no idea who Anna Kendrick is! lol

She needs to do it on stage, not so sure that this film will work out but I'll see it for her, she's amazing.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
As always, this reeks of pure PR BS. There's no deal, there's no script, there's no nothing. They're going to "shop" it in Santa Monica? It is to laugh.
They're obviously looking for a distributor, bk, but the project is very real. I don't know how in the world you could open up the story and convey the difference in time progression successfully on film, but Richard LaGravenese has been working on the script for close to two years. Jason Robert Brown's been alluding to the movie adaptation without mentioning LaGravenese's name for some time, so I'm surprised it's taken this long to leak. The issue in the way of getting the green-light (per JRB) was always getting name actors for the two leads, and now that Kendrick opened PITCH PERFECT to pretty significant success, I'm not surprised she's who they went after.
My money's on Joseph Gordon-Levitt ending up as Jamie, though that's based purely on my own internal logic and not on any inside information. He and Kendrick were pretty incredible opposite one another in 50/50, and that kind of intense chemistry is crucial for subject matter as intimate as this. Besides, considering he's rumored to be developing a remake of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, Gordon-Levitt certainly seems interested in exploring doing a musical on screen. This would be the perfect vehicle for him.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.
