Just a friendly reminder for those interested, Carousel will be airing in the NYC area on PBS starting at 9PM tonight. Audra McDonald will be hosting the broadcast of the New York Philharmonic's production from earlier this year starring Kelli O'Hara, Nathan Gunn, Jessie Mueller, Stephanie Blythe, Jason Danieley, Kate Burton, and of course, John Cullum.
It's not airing here in San Diego until midnight Monday morning.
I believe it's also airing at 3:30PM on Sunday here in the NYC area? I don't know about anywhere beyond that.
I loved this concert so much.
10pm tonight in the dc area
"Pre-Taped at Lincoln Center"
Nathan Gunn has an amazing voice. Though most of you know that already :)
My TV works! (It was touch and go for a while...)
Such joy to be able to see this gorgeous concert again. Heaven.
Rewatching this is such a delight. I don't think this show has ever been so gorgeously sung from top to bottom.
I dearly wish there was a recording of this. The performances are beautiful.
What a friggin' Score!
They don't write em like this no more.
Even the intermission feature was wonderful.
Was anyone able to record it off their TV? Like with a DVD recorder, TiVo (does anyone have that anymore) or anything? I had class from 6-9:30 and missed it! Is there any way I can see it? So many thanks in advance!
In my dreams this was an actual revival that played Broadway and ran long enough that we could all see it live over and over.
Thank god for DVR, next best thing, I suppose.
Oh, how I wish I could record this... (No DVR at the moment!)
I'm as captured by it tonight as I was in Avery Fisher Hall the night I attended.
It's just... beautiful.
And, yes, I'm crying. Again.
It started at 10 in DC. And I'm recording it (VCR).
Dottie - enjoy every moment!
I'm so glad to know you've recorded it. It lives on!
Just finished watching this beautiful production. What an amazing concert, I can only imagine how much better it all sounded live and in person. Simply stunning, I can only imagine what Lincoln Center could do these days with a full Broadway production(including a 20+ piece orchestra). The ballet had me in total awe.
Ugh. Jesse Mueller so needs be in the FUNNY GIRL revival. She's too perfect for it to go to anybody else.
I have absolutely no complaints. This was perfect.
You all are making me excited. I've never seen a production of Carousel before. Or the movie for that matter. I do have the CD with Audra McDonald. It's cool that she's hosting the concert.

And I used to get made fun of for saying this. Absolutely! If I had the money, I'd invest it tomorrow.
And yes, PBS is streaming it on their website for those who missed or can't DVR: http://t.co/TQAvfBUEgk
My local station is now airing "Oscar Hammerstein: Out of My Dreams". I've wanted to see this for so long but I haven't had the chance before. So happy.
It airs on Sunday at 1:30pm in St. Louis, but I may just watch it online before then. I've been looking forward to seeing this since it was announced.
Tiler Peck - wow!!
