Salve, Regina, Mater misericordiae
Vita, dulcedo, et spes nostra
Salve, Salve Regina
Ad te clamamus exsules filii Eva
Ad te suspiramus, gementes et flentes
O clemens O pia
Millie is chock full of them, but broadwayguy beat me to it with "Not for the Life of Me". Flower Drum Song is another great source, and I love to quote Annie whenever I'm heading into "big apple city". Please keep them coming
You're romance, You're the steppes of Russia, You're the pants On a Roxy usher.

She once was quite well read, He once was intellectual, No one's suspicious, They're gonna be all right. She's nice and sweet and dead, He's tall and ineffectual, They look delicious, They're gonna be all right. ... Sometimes she drinks in bed, Sometimes he's homosexual, But why be vicious? They keep it out of sight. Good show, They're gonna be all right.
What we have here is an ethical dilemma 'Less I help him get the mask removed, he doesn't have a prayer True the gun was never fired But the way events transpired, I could finish him with simple laissez faire
Oh, and Reefer Madness is full of little rhyme gems that make me smile! Like "Yes we're waiting for your business in this carnal carnivale/Take a one way ticket to the bacchanal."
She keeps filling up the hut with rubbish like flowers and plants And not only is it overcrowded it's loaded with ants. She is definitely true intrusive, a nuisance and yet, She's an interesting creature this Eve.
She's developing a strange new habit that doesn't make sense. She's forever reaching out to touch me which makes me feel tense She is definitely quite eccentric, a numbskull, and yet She's an interesting creature this Eve.
Once I saw her standing by a hilltop, her head titled back, sunlight on her face, gazing at the flight of a bird. And I saw at once that she was "beautiful", beautiful - yes that's the word.
There are animals around this garden more soothing than she But there is nothing in the whole of Eden more pleasant to see. If she'd only learn to keep her mouth shut one minute at a time Why I believe I could possibly enjoy just watching.. This curiously interesting creature called Eve.
(There are more verses but these are my favorites)
Really all of Huryy It's Lovely Up Here, but I've always loved
Hey, rhododend! Courage, little friend. Ev'rything'll end rhododandy. Hurry! It's lovely up here! Climb up geranium, it can't be fun subterran-ium On the exterior, it's cheerier RSVP peonies, pollinate the breeze, Make the queen of bees hot as brandy Push up azalea, don't be a failure!
MATILDA: "When I grow up / I will be strong enough to carry all / the heavy things you have to haul / around with you when you're a grown up"
SIDE SHOW: "Will I explode of all of my thoughts collide? / One minute brave, the next minute terrified / Are these feelings I have got to hide?"
[TITLE OF SHOW]: "Dancing in the backyard / kool-aid mustache and butterfly wings / hearing Andrea McArdle sing from the hi-fi in the den / I've been waiting my whole life to find a way back to then" (actually, I think all of the lyrics in this song are special and I find that each verse resonates with me in a different way)
HAIR: "Tell him Angela and I / don't want the two dollars back / just him"
FOLLIES: "I've some traits, I warn you / to which you'll have objections / I, too, have a cornucopia of imperfections"
If you can know where you're going, you've gone. Just keep moving on.
Words don't deserve that kind of malarkey. They're innocent, neutral, precise, standing for this, describing that, meaning the other, so if you look after them you can build bridges across incomprehension and chaos. But when they get their corners knocked off, they're no good anymore…I don't think writers are sacred, but words are. They deserve respect. If you get the right ones in the right order, you can nudge the world a little.
"Yes, I've been smiling and sweet and thoroughly beaten blowing my chance. Let's not chase him away, let's face him and say - Hey punk, let's dance. This chip on my shoulder makes me smarter and boulder, no more whining or blaming - I'm reclaiming my pride, let's grab that book and let's do this instead of doodling hearts all through this. Now there's a chip on my shoulder, let's see him knock it aside." -- Chip On My Shoulder - Legally Blonde: The Musical.
"I don't have the time to cry, I'm too busy loving my name up on that list - kind of a cool ironic twist." -- So Much Better, Legally Blonde: The Musical.
"You use to so be 'eh' - a limp, lackluster, bore, but now you're changing into something I just can't ignore." -- History of Wrong Guys, Kinky Boots.
All of You Can't Stop the Beat from Hairspray, honestly, but I always loved the "Ever since we first saw the sun, it seems Von Tussle girls were always trying to please someone, but now we're gonna shake and shimmy and have some fun today" bit.
"I'm the girl to beat, the high school queen - seniors kiss my ass and I'm just fifteen. And soon the world will know her name, I'm raisin hell and I'm felon in a four foot frame." -- Killer Instinct, Bring It On.
"Anybody that goes to the theater, I think we’re all misfits, so we ended up on stage or in the audience.” --- Patti LuPone.
Mandy There's a minister handy And it sure would be dandy If we'd let him make a fee So don't you linger Here's the ring for your finger Isn't it a humdinger? Come along and let the wedding chimes Bring happy times For Mandy and me
-Irving Berlin
My mother's name was Mary She was so good and true Because her name was Mary She called me Mary, too She wasn't gay or airy But plain as she could be I hate to meet a fairy Who calls herself Marie
